Thumbs up Gas mileage increase, alot

I noticed a huge increase in full mileage on my fillup yesterday. I have 3700 miles on the car now. On my comute to and from work I was getting 22 mpg @ 70 mph. The last two days I'm avg 27 mpg @ 70 mph. All conditions are the same. It appears that the full mapping has changed after the 3500 mile mark. This is the point that the first oil change happens at. From this point on the computer must lean out the motor to get better gas mileage. Has anyone else noticed this?

Haven't made it to the 3500 mark yet - but very interested to see more input on this.
22 mpg is great anyway - but 27 is impressive. congrats!$$

Haha, very very nice. 27 MPG is mega!.

I'm managing roughly 16MPG with 2150 on the odo, but I attribute most of that to that thing called "intoxicating engine noise". 60% highway, 40% rual.

I hope things will improve as yours did

Wife's G35S averages 19MPG mostly city driving and a lot of idling (remote start) when its cold in the mornings.

7,800 miles. 19.5 MPG combined. I can get 26 MPG on highway at 60 MPH, it dips to 25 MPG at 70 MPH. I do see an improvement but it may be the summer blend of gasoline and warmer weather. There is no doubt this engine gets better with time. I scared my self silly the other day when the car "pounced" at 30 MPH to 60 MPH in what seemed a split second.

0 to 60 MPH? Rough video of me doing this:
I will make a better one next time I go to Spokane. I just happen to have my camera with me.

Rear wheel drive 2007 G35. First oil change done this week.

Can't wait til I get my first oil change. I just surpassed 3000 miles yesterday as I took my gf's father to the airport. After that, I filled up my tank and this is what the computer showed with a 16 gallon fill up. I was averaging 22MPG with average speeds of 30MPH highway and rural combined with stop and go traffic.

I'm approaching 3,700 and just got my first oil change. Highway mileage has been steadily climbing.

I saw (drum roll please) 29 mpg on one trip to work (30 miles) in light traffic. Once off the freeway though, it dropped like a rock. Just one more reason to keep the G moving as fast as possible

I've got another 300 mile round trip this weekend. I'll report my numbers after that.

Same here. I was averaging 18 mpg until just recently. Now I'm getting 20+ mpg at 3350 miles.

Went in for my first oil change today, and the car was alot happier when I picked it up. So I'm hoping there's better mileage around the corner.
