Temperature

Greetings all,

As a newbie to this site and a new 2007 G35X owner, I have a question. I had seen a review that showed a photo of the nav screen with the 'outside temp' in the upper right of the screen. I know you can include the clock there, but what about the temp? Anyone know about this?

Visit site to zoom in on interior photo...

I can't see how to do it either. I hate that I can't show outside temp plus mpg at the same time (except for that useless bar graph).

Yes it would be nice if the temp was in the mirror or the display. BTW, my outside thermometer seems to be off by several degrees and the interior seems "cold" with the temp set at 75. My other vehicles were comfortable set at 70. Anyone else?

I live in Houston, so love that the G has a rockin' A/C; I usually cycle up and down a few degrees depending on the day / time. If the sun is shining on the dash, the A/C will blow cold (i.e. even if it's not hot in the car).

on my journey the outside temp is the only temp it shows and the s/c seems to run dependent on that temp not an inside temp. ie its 77 outside cars been in the sun its really hot inside but if the ac setting is 75 it trys to warm to 77. of course you can manually overide but this being the 1st car ive had with auto climate i cant say its that smart of a system.

Musta been a pre-release version of software. Wish we could do it...

As for the AC ! Agreed - LOVE the AC! and yes it can get chilly set at 70F.
Also wish we had the ******* coolers like on the M.

The interior temp control is less than perfect on my journey - if I set it to 70 or 72 as I have on all other cars, it keeps blowing cold air hard through teh dash vents as if it were 90 inside. If I set it to 76 or so, itgets better, but will sometimes still be blowing sold so hard that I have to aim the vents all away or set it to blow through the defrost and floor vents

I had a quick question regarding the temperature. How is it in the winter. For example, when you have use your car for about an hour or so with the heater running at a certain temperature (79 degrees or something) and you get out of your car for about an hour or two. How well does the cabin capture the heat that has been circulated from the previous use of the heater. I currently have a 02 maxima and it doenst capture the heat that great. I will be picking up my G35X in less then a week. If someone has any knowledge on this matter please let me know. Thanks

Don't think cars are built to be thermal insulators.

Its more like a glasshouse with single pane glass all around ..... its probably not going to "retain" heat for couple hours when it is cold outside.
Maybe the coolant would retain some heat and you it will get the car heater to temp quicker when you come back.

Plus hey, you don't have to worry about winter for a while (at least in the US !)
