Is it really that bad?

I've been lurking for awhile. I keep reading new cases of the same issues most of you are getting with your G35 sedans, dead battery, i-key failure, and straightline driveability issues. I'm not too concerned with the dead battery or i-key failure. I am however **** about how the car handles and drives. Is the straightline tramming really that bad?

I test drove a G35S automatic and loved it. I can't seem to get this car out of my head. I guess I'll test drive one again before I buy one.

This is what happened to me yesterday. I hope it's totalled. There might be driveline issues too. The engine was running fine but the car was hesitating to move forward when I was trying to move it off the street. I was rearended and hit a land cruiser pretty hard too. Saw the hit coming too.

teh G is freakin awesome. no matter what anyone says, it's an incredible car. i've had more minor troubles with mine than most on here I think, and i would not trade it back for anything.

my X handles like a dream, the sport feels great too. I just wanted the AWD, but the sport was my number 2.

hope to welcome you to the G owner circle soon. good luck with your buy!

Well we bought an '04 and 3 months later bought an '05 and now 2 years later I have gotten an '07. We have had a few of the issues that seem to pop up on here but it is certainly not been what I would call a problem brand or even a PITA brand.

well.. don't count on that car being totaled, It will be costly to repair, but best of luck on getting your G...

Can't speak for the 07's, but I don't notice any of those issues on my 04 sedan. handling-wise, it goes where I point it....On the straights, it tracks straight--Even if I take my hands off the steering wheel at 75-80 mph (only for a couple seconds to test it).

Tramlining is not an issue on the G35x (can't speak for other models), not even any noticeable at all. Other cars I have had had this issue really bad (MB E430 Sport and Volvo S60R) so I am very familiar with the felling and the problem.

Other issues I have not had (keyfob, battery), but I have only had the car 2 weeks.

Only recuring annoyance I have is the loss of the VoiceTags in the phone system. Have lost then 4 times already and am giving up for now until I have my first service. This issue has been posted about by many people so I suspect it is widespread.

If you are considering this car I could not recommend it more, except I don't want to see too many more on the road, starting to become ike a 3 series in NJ, everywhere I turn I see one...

that's why you gotta have a different color than white, black, or silver.

I have an 07x and have been driving it for 6 months now. I have had no issues with the i-key nor have I noticed any problems with straight line stability. It's a great car and I guarantee you will love driving it.

I have the car you're considering, it's fantastic, handles great, no straight-line issues, no i-key issues (yet).

Buy the G! But unfortunately, I second the opinion that your Audi is not totaled.

wow sorry to see the audi go! the tramlining isnt bad at all. i think i had more in my audi than the g35. tires also play a major role in tramlining. i havent had any problems with the i-key or dead batteries or anyhitng else for that matter. you wont regret the g!

Yeah it does not look that bad (your car)

Why are you looking into a G and not another Audi?
