Guys, I need help for where to mount video switch box from avelectronic (plus dvd).
I haven't ordered it yet. I just want to know if there is space for these toys. It seems to me our car doesn't have much room for them.
If you have installed them, can I see where you place them?

It's one of those video adapters that lets you do that thing that the mods don't want you to talk about Originally Posted by Canadian144

As far as where, there's plenty of room in the glovebox for the DVD... the rest of the gear can go behind/under the glovebox or behind the panel under the steering column.

Can someone PM me more info on this please. I have their website, but I need to know which product to order. I DONT have Nav if that makes a difference.

If you don't have NAV then you don't need this... you can wire a switch to a couple of wires in the back and you're done.Originally Posted by DannyDeez

But I digress. pm coming.

You can order the more expensive unit which allows you to hook up up to 4 RCA input/output.
If you invest money to buy this box, I recommend you also buy backup camera. The box has built-in feature for backup camera. Also buy a dvd player. The box can send video signals to multiple sources/screens.
According to what I learn from them, novice can do the install without any problem. THe biggest problem is whether you know how to access stock AV unit. There is one wire you need to cut. The unit is designed specifically for 2007 G35 so it's pretty much plug and play.
More nicely, you can buy the remote navigator box (garmin GVN 52) and hook it up to this box via RCA cable.
To me the most difficult task is where to hide those toys. I know there is space here and there as one member mentioned but it is easier said than done. I need to see a picture to judge whether I want to place it there. I don't want to punch too many holes and move many times.

fyi i emailed the sales for avelectronics and they said you have to cut 4 wires in the back of the head unit.
As far as putting the unit, you could mount the unit to the back of the rear seats in the trunk, or maybe upside down on the rear shelf to the left or right of the bose unit as long as the wires are long enough...

They told me only 1 wire to be cut. I surprise why they give out 2 different answers. I think it depends on the model year you get and whether you have nav or not? My is 2007 sedan and no nav.Originally Posted by Trance_G35
