Is it worth it?

Is it worth getting the protection package from the dealer? It includes the following for $899cdn :

Vehicle Undercoating
Paint Protection
Leather / Vinyl Protection
Rust Inhibitor

They said with the Paint Protection, you do not need to ever wax your car...is that true?

Is this package worth the $$ ?

Thanks.

Personally I wouldn't go for this. It's a common way for a dealer to try and make some extra money.

I figured they are making extra money...but are the stuff they are offering worth getting? Or is it alot cheaper to go elsewhere?

If by paint protection they mean a clear bra, then it might be worth it if you're gonna do it on your own later... and even then only if they're doing front/rear/hood and mirrors, otherwise you can probably get a better deal elsewhere.

The other crap is probably a scam... they probably use $5 wipes and wipe down your interior and call it a day.

pass, its all crap. I work at a dealership so...

They put a product on your car that is like a super-wax, but I wouldn't do it to my car. Especially not for what they charge.

The undercoating is a "gravel guard" protector sprayed under the car.

The paint protecter is a sprayed on applicator that protects the paint from fading and UV rays. It is suppose to eliminate the need to wax.

Rust Inhibitor is sprayed in the doors and fenders to prevent rusting.

Leather protection is suppose to prevent cracking.

None of this is the 3M tape...I have to pay extra for that.

FWIW I would go with a clear bra, especially if you're going to be driving on the deerfoot 500. I got my clear bra installed from a local tint shop and judging by the number of rock chips on my grill I am glad to have it. The rest of the package sounds like BS to me.

I am definitly getting the clear bra...I was just wondering on the other protection they offer. It looks like it is not worth it, since nobody on here has got it done. Has anybody got their underbody sprayed?

Where did you get your tint done at? Are you satisfied with their product?

I don't have tint on my G yet, I still can't decide whether I want to risk getting fined for tint on my front side windows. I heard a rumor that the insurance companies may start denying claims on the basis of illegal tint. I would still highly recommend Shadow Tinting:

www.shadowtinting.com

Beno Ferreira is by far the best tint installer I've seen in Calgary. He installed my clear bra and he did tinting on some of my past cars as well.
