Yep, and that is exactly why I passed on it. I would much rather use high quality products like Zaino, Poorboys, and Menzerno to protect my G than their paint protector. Also, you will be bound to get swirl marks and spider webbing on your G (it's a given). If you want to have them removed, you'll be stripping off the paint protector as well, and hence be a waste of money.

Like everyone else has stated, pass on it all.

They said with the Paint Protection, you do not need to ever wax your car...is that true?

Is this package worth the $$ ?

Thanks.
OMG I can't believe anyone still asks about this crap. Please do NOT opt for any of these packages - they're all bogus and are pure margin for the dealer. You don't need undercoating or rust inhibitor... when was the last time you saw rust through on a modern car???? Leather/vinyl protection is a joke, and you can buy a quality polymer sealant (e.g. Zaino) for $50 and you'll have enough for 5 years. PLEASE do not do this.

I think you've already made your decision to pass on this package (good decision) but here's another reason to PASS. On my last G, I did buy a wheel protection package. I don't remember how much it was, but my husband was with me and he approved, so it must've been reasonable.

Anyway, I accidentally scraped the curb once at a drive-thru (yes, I'm a lady-driver...and a good one...but this could happen to anyone). Infiniti WOULD NOT PAY to fix the scratched wheel because this was a FIXED curb, not a pot-hole or some other random road hazard.

Bottom line, the dealers are always looking to make extra money and you will most likely never need whatever it is they are trying to sell you. On the new G they did upgrade their package to include fixed curbs, but we still didn't bother to buy it this time around.

I did my Vehicle Undercoating at the my friend's local shop for $180. He sprayed 2 bottles of the undercoating on my G. I think the Vehicle Undercoating is needed if you live in the area that shows a lot. I was surprised there's no undercoating on the car.

They tried to sell me a Paint Sealant package for $699. I told them to stuff it, I could buy 10 years worth of Zaino for that price and I guarantee I apply it better than the teenage car washer that washes and preps all the cars. The woman said she wasn't sure people could properly apply paint sealant at home and that its a job best left to their professionals. LOL. Not coincidentally I had a miserable time at that dealership, bought the car there because it was in stock and have never been back.
