Wood
#16
I thought the wood was much more luxurious looking more befitting of a "luxury/upscale" car than the washi aluminum. I just couldn't get myself to like the aluminum. That's my opinion, others may disagree, but that's why Infiniti provides options! I also really like the fact that it's not a shiny type of wood that looks like plastic, but more of a flat finish that looks like real wood. IMO, if you like the wood finish, the additional $300 (MSRP) is a great deal.

The wood trim does make it look more luxurious and it does match well with the black interior, but I prefer the washi. I do have wood trim in my other vehicle, but somehow on the G35 the lines of the trim pieces and the the center console made the washi look better for me. The wood is bordering on too much wood which I typically don't like.
BTW, is the wood trim real or simulated wood?

When I was taking my car in for service, I saw a buy with G35S that have carbon fiber trim. He said that is how the car came from fatory. I want carbon fiber trim. It looks the best of the three trim options. Do you guys know where can I get it? the dealer? I don't want the cheap ebay ones. Please help it you know where. Thanks

If you configure a G35 on the Infinity web site using the "Build Your G Sedan" capability, you will see it as an option. I am not sure it is available with all colors or all models, but I am sure it is available on the G35 Journey with the Black Obsidian exterior and the Wheat Interior.
It is not an option with your have the Sport model.

I liked the wood a lot, but somehow the dealers nearby didn't have any Blue Slate or Lakeshore Slate (my 2 favorite colors) car with wood trim, so I ended up getting a Blue Slate with the washi aluminum. I have to say, though, that I've grown to love the aluminum trim. The texture on it makes it look much better than the traditional plain aluminum trim, and it fits the sporty nature of the car.
