Cell phone rang in pocket next to key fob. What now?

I've tried to keep the damn things apart, but today I failed, and of course, my wife called my cell phone while it was in the same pocket with my key fob. (Who else could find a way to f**k up a perfectly good G35?)

Well, the key fob still works OK, but now I am worried that it could crash and burn any time. There is a question here:

1. How long does it take for the cell phone to wreck the key fob?
2. Is this a cumulative effect, or does it take only one unfortunate event to wreck it?
3. Also, will the damage to the key fob be immediately apparent?

After I fished the cell out of my pocket, I locked and unlocked the car several times with the fob in my pocket and the fob seemed to work.

I'd like to know if I am headed for trouble or not. Thanks.

If the fob still worked then you are fine. Just try to keep them apart to be certain it doesn't happen again.

I think you're fine.

It happened to me like 3 times so far and it's been fine.

*1 It zaps immediately, so if yours still works, you're in no worse shape than the rest of us.

Here's what you did wrong and here's how to avoid it.
Mistake: Letting your wife call your cell phone. You could have been at some strip club and you need time to yourself.

Fix: One good backhand usually does the trick. If not, try two.
