I dont hate it, but I should of gone aftermarket instead... wish i knew about it before I bought the G

I've said that I have used the Infiniti navigation... am I still not allowed to have a say in this? I don't see what's wrong...

In my opinion the navigation is nice, however you get much more bang for your buck with portable units. In a rapidly growing technology like GPS, it's nice to know that I can upgrade to a unit with more features as they become available. You can also use them in other vehicles. I used to travel like crazy in my previous position and my portable GPS was a Godsend.

It IS touch screen! At least my 07 Sedan is!

I've never had Nav before and always thought that it was a waste of my money. While I don't use the actual Nav function that often, it proved invaluable on one extremely important occasion (worth the price just for saving my $$$ the one time). And the XM Traffic is worth the monthly fee.

And don't forget all the other stuff with the Nav package.

if it makes you feel any better, i don't see why you're being criticized when all the people posting about '03-06's in an '07 sedan forum aren't being criticized. but coming from other forums for my previous vehicle, this forum does seem a bit quick to judge

as for my .02 on the navigation, it is a very good value compared to nav in other cars (pricewise, music box, cf, etc), but i decided to pass on it. i had it on another vehicle and i have a portable unit, and while i used both quite a bit when i first got them (mainly just for the "cool" factor), the novelty wore off after a few months and i never used it again after that, unless i had new people in the car and was trying to impress them. now that i'm a bit older and don't care about impressing people, i decided to pass this time around.

i wish there was a vote for "i am disappointed in it, but would buy it again because i'd rather have foctory integration than aftermarket navigation"

it's not the best factory nav unit out there, but it's not the worst either.

I got it and barely even use it.

This is true...were in an 07' sedan section....the poll is asking if 07' sedan owners like their new navigation set up (which is clearly night and day from the previous navigations)...but yet all the Coup and previous 03'-06' Sedan gen owners are answering and making comments on the old navigation set up....

I love the nav in the G. I've used it in the city and on road trips to the middle of nowhere, and it's been precise every time. I've never used another nav system so I'm not an expert but I think the G's is well worth it.

I have portable units as well but really enjoy the integrated navs. One major benefit is not having to hide the portable unit every time I leave the car somewhere. You don't often hear someone having their factory nav stolen. Sure there could be some improvements, but I feel it's really a great overall when you realize it does more than navigation functions.

I remember this debate back when I bought my '02 Maxima with Nav. It was more than just a Nav system because it also added the functions of touch screen climate control and would become a touch screen CD player when nav disc was removed and replaced with an audio CD.

treacherous, having to unplug and pull the portable is the only thing that I don't like about the portables. I do like the integration. I don't like not being able to unput anything while driving or my wife inputting info while driving. Why can't these manufacturers have the warning like the portables and then have the option to proceed? My first integrated NAV was in my 07 Camry. It was absolutely horrible at it's main purpose, directions. It consistantly gave horrible routes no matter how it was configured. It got me to where I was going, but it took me way out of the way to get there many times. It was so bad that I went back to my Garmin C550. The Garmin consistantly gives fantastic routes. Not always the best, but more times than not it did. I did test the Infinity Nav before deciding against it. I have to say it's light years ahead of Toyota's. It's very intuitive and simple to use. I didn't have enough seat time to see if it gave good routes. If the standard audio system didn't have the same screen or allow video, I probably would have purchased the NAV system, but not for the NAV alone. It does have some very nice features.
