Trunk Tie Downs?

I attached four sticky-back Velcro patches (the "hook" side only) to each of the bottoms of a couple of large footlockers I have in my trunk to store work equipment. They do not move at all (again use just the "hook" side of the Velcro), even during spirited cornering, yet they do NOT "stick" because the Infiniti G35's carpet on the trunk floor is not woven in a closed loop style (although the sides are indeed made of a semi-loop to help attach the zipup case for the owner's manual), so the boxes easily lift up and off - although you shouldn't try to slide'em around...
