my thread probably needs a little rephrasing. Once your moving the car is animal. I guess its just the lack of down-low power that sometimes annoys me.

On a side note though, my friend is in from arizona and the kids 282 pounds lol ( we weighed him yesterday cuz i didnt believe him). 3 of us took a ride about 2 am last night, and NY's weather was a nice cool 73 degrees with no humidity. It was him, another friend, and myself (im 215) in the car, so the car was a little heavy. He was never in a new G before either. I hit the from the get go and his first reaction was HOLY SHt lol. I have a feeling the weather is playing a big roll because last night my car felt like a beast from all speeds.

You hit the nail on the head...

To really appreciate the G you MUST spend serious time above 4500 RPM.

Put that baby in "DS" mode and drive it like you stole it for a couple weeks.

It will learn your driving habits and will be chomping at the bit whenever you drive it...

your sick in your head...i have an 05 maxima se as well...unless you have serious work done to that car, your G will smoke it. I messed around with my boy from like 10-70 leavin work in his 06 maxima with an injen CAI, as soon as we hit it i jumped on him like it wasnt even funny.

It is true that the lack of low end torque and gear ratios make the G feel slower when you just push it to 3000 rpm, but when you push the pedal to the metal it really goes!

Comming from a 350Z, it's definately not the fastest car I've owned. I do agree with the original poster. The car does not feel fast or quick. Then again I knew I was not getting a Z replacement when I bought the car.

? I know you went from a 2 door sporty coupe to a 4 door sedan so your perception might be a little skewed, but i'm pretty sure that our g35's have a faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile than any of the z configurations. i might be wrong, but i think the z's are in the 5.6sec + club for 0-60, so we have a good 0.2-0.4 sec advantage on them.

Not the fastest car I've owned by a long shot, but gets me where I need to go as fast as I am willing to get there.

I came from the evo. The G feels very slow compares to the evo, but it is actually just as fast. It is just the feel because it is so refine and solidly built. You can go 100mph without knowing you have gone that fast. The evo is loud and feels really fast, but i am not sure if it is that fast.

It has decent get up and go, nothing mind blowing but if you are buying this car for that purpose you bought the wrong vehicle.

I recently raced my buddies 07 335i and he blew my doors off, standing start, rolling start, from 100k roll, didn't matter. Put roughly 4 cars on me at any time.

I own the G35 Sport Auto, would I trade it for his Bimmer, hell no. Looks, comfort and luxury far exceed the Bimmer.

As for fast cars, I'm coming from a 600rwhp Turbocharged Mustang, so pretty much anything I drive now feels slow...LOL

I am used to quicker cars but I would have to say that honestly I could care less. Sure it's heavy but I enjoy how refined the car is and practical. Just wait for some suspension mods to come along for the car and see how you like it. I bet some anti-sway bars and a coil over suspension system would change people's attitude towards the sedan. Aside from suspension the only other solution to this high revving motor would be a decent supercharger kit to balance the power band.

My previous Z was boosted and put down around 450 to the wheels. We're not comparing apples to apples; But even in stock form, the Z felt more responsive than my 07 G35S
