IIRC, KP Technologies has a work around for this. Send him a PM to find out.

Just press the enter button on the steering wheel. It take 0.2 seconds. It's not like you have to enter a password. I don't really understand why it is such an annoyance.

it's annoying because you get warned like 10x a day, it grows old after a while. it's like signing a waiver/contract every time you step foot in the vehicle. it should only appear once, then when you agree, it disappears forever. i realize that other people may drive the car, like friends, valets, etc which explains why the message must appear every time you start the car, but gimme a break. if i want a warning, then i'll go talk to my fiance or the nearest cop

The only time it ever annoys me is when I try to activate navi while taking a turn. I'm not coordinated enough to hit enter and turn at the same time despite the fact the enter button is on the steering wheel. This is primarily because I'm an idiot.

I also hate the warnings and the inability to program many functions while driving. I believe that this should be optional.

How often does the warning come up? More than once every time you start the car?

I ask because I'm looking at purchasing the 08 G35x possibly soon.

Thanks

It happens the first time you hit the MAP/Nav button after you've started your car. So if you are always on the MAp screen, it will only pop up whenever you start the car.

This is my biggest gripe with the Nav (and other functions as well) in the G35. I can't use it when I need it most.!! Come on, I'm driving on a busy highway and I have to stop in order to operate the nav to find the nearest gas station or make a change in direction, or dial a phone number!! They should have at least allowed control from the steering wheel while moving. SUX!!

thanks, that is a pita. Also the lockout during driving. Almost enough possibly to not get the car if you use the nav often.

They could at least let it be totally enabled if they sensed a passenger in the front seat.

^^ Bingo to that... I always thought it weird that you wouldn't design it so a passenger could program it while you were driving. Hell, a passenger could watch a movie and stuff too, why should it all be disabled?! I guess they don't want to take the risk of being liable for stuff like that.

Instead of complaining, try using voice commands.

My GOD

Never seen so much whining and moaning in one short thread.
Grow up people. It's a liability for Nissan/Infiniti. Annoying? - hell yes! But can you blame the manufacturer? Especially in this country where every Joe Schmo sues everybody and his mother for anything and everything. It only takes one multi million dollar lawsuit brought on by a moron who got himself into an accident because he messed around with the navi and didn't pay enough attention to the road.

I don't blame Nissan one bit for covering their a$$es.

+1 Speed, what really got me was when the one poster bitched because he couldn't use his Nav while negotiating a turn.........DUH !!!! Thanks Dan, I was really biting my tongue on this thread. I'll be honest, the entire staff here on Driver knows the 07 Sedan section to be a bunch babies and whiners.......and this is exactly why.

I am too busy enjoying my G to care about such trivial things.
