INTRODUCTION
For the 2007 G35 Sedan; Infiniti has determined that some cell phones, if allowed to touch the Intelligent Key
when receiving or sending a call, may alter the electronic code contained in the Intelligent Key. If this happens,
the Intelligent Key may be damaged and would no longer lock or unlock the doors or start the engine. To
correct this potential condition, Infiniti is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to replace the Intelligent
Keys. The improved replacement Intelligent Keys are not susceptible to this type of cell phone interference.
IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
Infiniti has assigned identification number P7220 to this campaign. This number must appear on all
communications and documentation of any nature dealing with this Campaign.
DEALER RESPONSIBILITY
Infiniti recommends that dealers correct each vehicle falling within the range of this campaign that enters the
service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist)
owners and vehicles in a dealer’s inventory.

Awesome!! I'm tired of worrying that I may kill my key by putting it in the wrong pocket.

careful what you wish for... you might trade one problem (MAYBE damaging the key with a phone) for less range or more finnicky electronics.

not to be pessimistic, but not every improvement is an improvement

Reduced range is less likely to leave me stranded, so if it came down to it I would accept that trade off. I use the buttons on the doors to lock and unlock, so range is really quite meaningless. I realize that was just an example, but this problem needs solving.

I was supposed to get that taken care of yesterday but they didn't get their new keys yet... I guess I'll be rescheduling with them shortly

ckp - if your VIN falls with in the range covered the service campaign bulletin linked above, look at the bulletin for pictures to identify whether you have the new keys or the old keys.

I took my car to Tustin Infiniti this week for an oil change. They told me they would do the fob replacement right there. It took about 90 mins with the oil change and the fob programming, but both of my new fobs work like a charm. They told me toss the old fobs.

My car is vin 726xxx (built June 2007) so it's outside the range. I confirmed the I-key has the "good mark" that it shows in the bulletin.

The TSB has over 90 steps to run! The last step tells the dealer to destroy the old keys. Theoretically, it should be possible to keep the old keys (but it's more work for the dealer since all keys need to be repogrammed). But, Infiniti doesn't want us to keep the old keys (I suppose they wouldn't want us to get stranded and use the Infiniti Roadside Assistance to bail us out).

For those with the new keys, do they work just as well as the old keys (range, etc.)?

I never had the old key since my car came with the "fixed" key. I've had no problems with it and the range seems fine to me compared to other cars I've had.

Are the new intelligent keys the exact same size & shape as the original keys? The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to order the intelligent key cover as mentioned in https://g35driver.com/forums/accessories-vendor/164263-intelligent-key-cover.html. I want to confirm that the cover will fit the new keys.

Thanks.
