Washed the Intelligent Key again

A not-so-intelligent move; I washed my intelligent key with my shorts tonight. This was the second time. Luckily it still works with no problem.

I've read and mentioned this before...

I believe our keys are water proof. Can someone verify?

I don't think they are. I accidentally washed mine before and about 2-3 weeks later it stopped working. Took it to dealership and was told it was all rusted inside, just glad they replaced it for free.

Probably more "splash proof". I think the OP just got lucky. Third time is a charm...

Did you use bleach? That would make a world of difference.

. . .and Fabric softener. It was so soft. I may dodge a bullet if I get a new set of keys in the recall.

I say he should try again with bleach and softener.

If that doesn't work then try the blender.
