I wish I had the extra cash flow to have opted for the G35xS - congrats on your new ride.
Hey dc4517,

Thanks. Joyce was very pleasant and professional to deal with. She only spoke to the sales manager twice to get me a deal close to invoice. Probably would've happened at or below invoice if they stocked the car. I forgot about your 2 year maintenance deal during negotiations. When signing the paperwork, I saw they could go up to 4 years. Maybe next time....

I was just happy that Joyce could locate not one, but FOUR G35xS's with Tech. A big contrast when compared to Infiniti of Manhattan, who kept dishing out empty promises (suckered me to come in by saying they have 2 that they conveniently "sold" by the time I got to the dealership an hour later).

Still waiting on my all season mats too so don't think Joyce gave me your set

See you around the area.

Has anyone here bought the car in the Houston area. And if so, how much below or above invoice did you buy it for. I am trying to get an idea how much I should pay for the car.

I bought from North Houston Infiniti on I45. I purchased mine for slightly under Invoice, but I went through my company's VPP program. That said, I believe folks are able to negotiate to that price anyway (at least that is what it appears from reading most of the posts here).

The folks at North Houston Infiniti were very good to work with. Seem to have a decent dealership. If you are willing to travel a bit, I also exchanged emails with Gunn Infiniti in San Antonio and they have "no haggle" pricing and will be pretty quick to email you back pricing.

btw, if you do decide to go to North Houston Infiniti, I had an excellent experience with my salesperson (Faith Berthey). She wasn't pushy, answered all my questions, and walked me through all the car.stereo/nav controls. She even set up the blue tooth and my phone for me.

Does this sound like a good deal?

Does this offer sound like a good deal? I dont have the advantage of the VPP program, so I am basically working from scratch. Here is what I was quoted:

2008 G35 Journey Sedan
Exterior: Blue Slate
Interior: Stone
Sport Package
Premium Package
Navigation Package
Rear Spoiler
Wheel Locks
Trunk Mat
Cargo Net
Splash guards
Nitrogen filled tires
MSRP $40,274.00
Vehicle Price $38,374.00

"Out the Door Price" $40,250.00

I am in the Charlotte area. Any feedback is welcomed!

Thanks!

I don't think this sounds like a good deal right now. The auto dealer industry as a whole is in turnmoil right now and amazing deals can be found all over the country. I think you'll be able to negotiate to the $36,500 range. If there are multiple dealers in your area you can probably go below invoice on this car. I would recommend getting a price quote from one of the dealers on this site to bring to your dealer in Charlotte. Hope this is helpful.

Chewy, Where are you from? I got quotes in Houston from 3 different dealers and most of them wanted $900 to $1000 over invoice. I am trying to get it at invoice or no more than $200 above invoice. BTW I'm not really rushing to get the car until I get it at the price I really want.

Which three dealers provided your quotes? I am in Houston also and planning to buy, but haven't started negotiations yet (I'm not in a hurry either). Seems to me that with 4 dealers in our area we should be able to get prices as good as others are reporting on this board (invoice +/- $100). Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Chewy's profile says Orange County, CA.

I also have shopped in Houston and they were in the range you quoted above.

Longhorn, are you referring to the range I mentioned (invoice +/- $100) or the range ToeKnee mentioned ($900 to $1000 over invoice)?

The rannge ToeKnee mentioned. This was not trying to do a VPP deal or anything, just standard dealing.
