Battery or ALternator issue??

Hey, anyone have any problems with there 07 G35 battery or alternator. I have had atleast 3 times where the battery has completely drained for no reason, and have had major issues trying to jump start it. 1st time was like a few days after i got it and i couldnt even get into the car, til i remembered the secret key/ I think that was a keyfab issue, but today, i had a complete battery failure. I came out to go to work, and there was no power at all in my car. I came home from work at 8pm and the battery must have died at 1130pm cause that was the timne on the analog clock. I didnt leave anything on, and like i said, its not the 1st time i have had this problem. I had my buddy who has a CHevy Tahoo jump my car and it actually took almost 10-15 minutes for the car to actually gain a charge to start. Once it started it stayed on, but jeez, i couldnt even get into my trunk to get my damm jumper cables.

Anyone else have issues like this?? Should i call Infiniti and have it looked at. The car is less then 8 months old and had @11k miles.

Nah, just keep jumping it twice a day, there are dozens of posts here on this forum from G35 and G37 owners who are having the same problem as you, try the search feature. Most G drivers suggest that you just leave the jumper cables attached to the battery at all times and wind up the rest of the cables & stuff it in an open area in the engine bay. Make sure to give yourself an extra 30 minutes to allow for cable-assisted engine starting anytime you want to drive somewhere.

Wait... no, you should take it to the dealer and have them *FIX IT*. Sorry I got carried away there.

My battery went dead once, a couple of months after I got the car. If it happens again I'm having them replace it outright and call it a day. I'm not gonna wait until I get stranded somewhere...

The stock Infiniti battery is infamously weak. A matter of 'when', not 'if' its gonna die on ya. Get a optima or die hard gold/platinum and never worry about it again.

If the battery will jump, but the car dies on the street..... it's the alternator.

If the battery will jump, run fine till you shut the car off, then not restart. It's the battery.

If the car won't jump, it's the starter.

If the battery holds a charge fine, and the car runs fine, but the battery keeps draining..... something is draining the battery (aftermarket amplifier, or other crap plugged into the car).

Either way, it's a warranty issue (unless it's aftermarket stuff).

It happened to me just once so far, when I did the "windows up" with the door & key.

But you can access the trunk manually if u lower the handrest in the backseat open the secret compartment and pull the lever(located on the top of your trunk)

i wanted to wait a day or so to see how the battery was after the incident yesterday, and so far so good. Its been starting with no problem, but i still dont have the automatic up with my windows. They will go down automatically, but not up, which is weird. So far i cant see anything else wrong but i will deff be calling them tomorrow to get a appoitment. Will keep u all posted. I want the throttle issue fixed aswell, so i will be telling them i have had issues with my cruise control.

I used to believe that as well however I learned from my previous car that if the battery was dying, you could jump it, it would start but would still die while driving. I though, "no way!". The battery apparently runs the computer in your car after it starts the engine. If it does not have enough juice to run the computer the car will die. I'm sure someone will disagree with this or claim that is not the case with Infiniti. It was the case with my 2000 Chrysler 300M. I thought for sure it was the alternator, the dealer said no, it was only the battery. Without a battery with power your car will die like older cars used to when your alternator quit generation juice.

I checked the Water in The Battery of my G, and It was Kinda Low, It's not a "Maintenance Free" Battery. So Try and check the Levels, If It's Low, thats probably why it may be Diying?? I had to add a little twice already, and I had the car for about 9months. So I think the Stcok G Batt is crap, and it's only a matter of time till mine Dies, So I am going to change it out soon just to be safe! Oh and use "Distilled Water" to refill your Battery!

Search the auto window up thing.

I remember seeing something about having to have something reset with the "auto up feature" if your battery dies. Unfortunately, I don't remember what thread I saw it in exactly.
