I guess the easiest way to find out is to call a dealer and get a quote

lol Hoodless, i would do a nice CF hood and then paint it if you don't like the CF look.
Only thing with a cf hood is you really run a risk of is hte hood flying up if you don't put pins in em. I am not sure how hoods are being made with the coupes 3 hood latches?

I was thinking about the same...
Man... I'd mass this guy up real good!... not
but definitely let the owner of the Accord pay for your damage.

BTW, I'm sorry to hear your loss.

I think everyone is right... CF hood is definitely nice with paint, but if you prefer the stock hood, you'd better get a quote from the dealer. I'd imagine it would be fairly expensive tho..

So such things as DEAR, Crap on the roads, parking lot incidents (if other person takes off and does not live any info) and all other **** that mother nature throws at you are covered under this category.

you're only partially right... these situations would fall under the "comprehensive" category of your insurance...you still have a deductable (probably) but it's typically lower than on collision. the major difference is your comprehensive RATES cannot go up no matter how many times you claim comprehensive coverage.

And you're right, IF the parts of the honda did NOT hit the ground before hitting the OP's car, then this accident IS included under comprehensive coverage. IF however the parts hit the highway first then your car it WILL be considered a collision so...even if they did bounce off the freeway DO NOT SAY THIS to your insurance carrier...tell them it fell directly off of the car, which it looks like it did since it hit your hood at a high point.

You should be fine, your insurance should cover this under comprehensive. you'll probably have a deductable but it could be in the $250 range (mine is $1000, as high as my collision deductable - i'd rather just have lower payments).

if you have questions let me know. i'm not an insurance agent just a young kid with way too much experience with cops, courts, and, recently, insurance

EDIT: I too am in the market for a new hood (see above): ARE THERE CARBON FIBER HOODS FOR OUR CARS??? I didnt know any were available, where would I inquire about them? I definitelywould pay the extra $ for a CF hood...anyone have any info?

thanks,
