Arghh. Accident with just 2900 miles
Some lady ran into me pulling into my driveway today. Man I'm ****ing pissed. I felt like choking the life out of her. Rear bumper and rear quarter panel needs replacing. Her boyfriend has a body shop and is offering to fix it for free. I'm the **** type. I have no idea what type of quality work this guy's shop does. I'm stoping by his shop on Monday and will decide whether to have him do it for free, or go to my shop through insurance and spend the $1000 deductible.

Bring it to a reputable shop, have it fixed, and her insurance flips the bill... not you.
Don't fall for this scam, have it done at a shop of your choice, not hers!
Sorry about the fender bender.
At least you're okay.

Ouch! I'm sorry to see you going through this!
I had an accident in my new G35 within 3 weeks from purchase, too. Some guy backed on his Toyota Tundra and into my rear right passanger side. The rage I felt...............
BTW, the repaire cost came out around $1400 for me. It was including the damages on door and fender. Of course, I didn't pay a dime.

I would consider letting them do this for free....it looks like a bumper cover and left rear qtr at most...if it was frame damage or a harder hit, then, no...I really don't think this is difficult body work to repair for a decent body guy...just make sure they use OEM parts, not some chinese cheapo panels, and he puts his good guy on it. I cannot tell exactly how creased that panel is but I've had paintless dent removal done on my 540 for a huge ding I thought would be impossible to fix and you could not tell...if the paint is not broken and it is not too sharp of a crease, skilled paintless guys can do the qtr. panel. My 2 cents...

I would be cautious about accepting free work in this case, your are better off to go through her insurance if the accident was not your fault and insist on brand new OEM parts. I was rear ended on September 23rd and I'm still waiting to get my car back because parts are on order. My car looked like it had less damage than yours, but there was a lot of hidden damage in the trunk and repairs are estimated at about $8,000-$10,000.
Is that painted and installed? According to the initial estimate from my insurance company the bumper cover it self is CDN$384.95.

I wouldn't recommend "friend of xxxx's bodyshop" doing the work in any scenario. Even if it is a big legit place... they might be doing the work on the side. Only case I would even consider this is if they were going to kick me some cash plush do the work for free AND sign a very good warranty/contract regarding the whole deal.
While US insurance companies always insist you call them about any accident whether or not it is your fault, I haven't ever really heard of someone being cancelled for not notifying their insurance company when someone else hits them.
Just get her policy info and call her insurance company directly... You still pick the body shop of your choice (don't let her insurance company tell you otherwise) and you still get a free loaner while the work is being done. All on her insurance company's dime, no cost to you.
