Paddle Shifters and Break In (was told not to use them)

1) there's no scientific evidence that being easy on the engine has any effect on the longevity of the engine. There is also no scientific evidence that driving it like it's stolen has any effect on the longevity of the engine
2) you will find just as many automotive engineering experts say that you need to go easy on the car during break in as you will those who say it doesn't really matter.
basically, short of someone actually doing a scientific study on this and coming up with scientific evidence, this goes either way. do what you want, follow the instructions or not. In reality, with a modern car, the engine is probably going to outlast most of the other parts of the car anyways.
Me, i drive the f*ck out of my car off the lot and have done so for every car I've owned. Now, the highest mileage I've had on a car is around 75k which isn't alot, but I've never had any engine problems, and I know the owners of two of my previous cars, and one was up to around 140k without any problems before it got stolen.

If I really wanted to be a pompous @sshat as you I'd ask you the same stupid pointless questions. My 'jerkoff claim' is a very well known 'jerkoff claim' and is the most well known claim for this subject. I really find it pointless to dig up information on common sense. Why the fvck would you want to beat the **** out of your engine. Buy hey, by your jack@ss claim engines don't break down, need service, need fuel, are never replaced, and they are impeccable straight from the production line.

Welcome to the Internet NOOB. This is a public forum, so get used to having your ego shat on.

What is the bolded part referring to?
And I've been on forums for quite some time. I can tell you're the guy that "knows what he's talking about" and won't accept any alternative views.
I've wasted enough of my time responded to your posts, believe what you want and break your car in however you choose, it's your choice.
I will say though, think about the legal reasons a manufacture or dealer would suggest an easy break in... Can you imagine the liability if they encouraged the break-in procedure outlined by the independent source? An easy break in is mostly for the safety of a new driver with a new car.
