Deer jumped out and hit me last night

I am seriously bummed. A 160 lb. spike horn white tail took out the right front of my 5 week old G last night coming around a curve.

The airbags blew and the front crumpled just like she was designed to. No glass broke and we didn't get hurt at all.

I'm here to tell you that the G is one of the safest cars in a crash. I just wish she wasn't all mangled on a flatbed right now. She'll never be the same.

Sorry to hear about the accident, however glad to hear everyone in the car is fine. The G is definitely one safe automobile.

I hit a deer about 15 years ago in my MR2 and ended up with a broken leg and 3 broken ribs. I wish I had my G35 that night.

Sorry to hear that man, it's particularly rough when it happens to such a new car. Glad to hear you are ok!

sorry to hear about that.. Is this covered by insurance? Also, just as a side question: is the deer dead? and if so, what happened to its body? (im just curious)

Yeah, I had insurance. And the deer - quite dead - is beside the Milton boat access on Route 2 just west of the Sand Bar State Park. Fish and Game is responsible for pick ups but they say someone usually gets it first.

It's hunting season up here right now.

Thanks for the kind words, All.

Glad you're OK. Sucks that the car is now damaged

I can't believe people leave the deer when they hit them. LOL You can bet I would be on the phone to anyone who had a truck to come get that baby right that moment! Deer meat is hard to come by if you don't have someone in your family who hunts.

What's Laws point of view on this issue?

Can you actually take a dear that you kill with your car?

My brother in law just came back from the hunting trip. Brought back 100lb of meat +another 100lb head and skin.

Glad to hear you are alright.

Maybe some of these deer whistles? I don't have any myself but they are quite small and could be hidden away out of view. Not sure of the overall effectiveness though. If they did work, I imagine they may work with elk and/or moose. I can't even imagine what a collision with a moose would be like.

No idea what the law is here on that. Never had to worry about it. What part of the country are you in again, Joker? I finally found someone who was willing to give me a small roast and a couple of steaks they had in the freezer from last season since this season is upon us.

Ah, too far to ship anything perishable. Let's stop hijacking the thread now. The big issue is the fact that an almost new G is now lame and needs therapy.
