Compass rear view mirror?

Ok, how come I see that the '07 G35 sedans have the compass displayin the rear view mirror. My '08 G35 does not have the compass in the mirror. What gives, do any of the other '08 have a compass in the rear view mirror. The compass in the nav system is too small, and analog to be useful.

I want my compass... may have to go aftermarket, or order an '7 rear view mirror? So now which way is south east?

Do you have Premium package?

EDIT: Never mind.... I see you have Nav.

It sounds like it might be defective.

G's with Nav. don't get a rear view mirror compass. It says it in the brochure. I would like the compass to but I also have nav.

I have to admit I don't really use mine but I would be disappointed too if feature was lacking in my new '08.

The G35's mirror is a generic homelink auto-dimming mirror manufactured by Mito I think (it's the company that homelink uses for their auto accessories).

It's the same mirror used in most other manufacturer's that don't integrate homelink controls into the vehicle's console, sun visor, or wherever else they would integrate it. My G's mirror is identical to my wife's Subaru Forester's mirror. I'm surprised they decided to use two different homelink mirrors on the '08 G35. It sorta sucks, but it's not unusual. Lexus does the same, on most cars that have a nav, they don't have a compass, the compass on the mirror was not on my IS300 because I had a nav, but non-navs have it.

Personally, I use north up on my nav. With a consistent directional perspective, it's pretty trivial to figure out what direction you're driving without needing a separate compass.

Right and as your signature states, you have an '07. The '08 +nav no longer has a compass as the original poster stated.

That was a good move to ditch the compass in the mirror, it's annoying. especially since it's on the Nav already. I'd much prefer to have a clear rear view mirror then a second compass

I have my routine every time I start the car... press ignition button, shut off mirror compass, hit enter to nav safety warning.

I don't have a compass in the mirror, but I don't have premium.

I'm actually kinda surprised that the compass/autodimming mirror is an OPTION. I'd think that something like that would be standard.

I don't really care much though.
