Heated Side mirrors?
Heated Side mirrors?
My 08 G35s with premium and nav package. Does this one comes with heated side mirrors? Everyday when i start to work, The mirror and galsses are coved with mist of water. And this mist does not go away even after 20 mins of drive. I used to have a Audi a4 before and with in few minutes of start the mist goes aways because of the heated mirrors.
Can any one tell me whther its a problem in my car or these cars does not have heated mirrors( thats strage)
Thanks.

Why is it a dumb design? Did you want an additional button? Usually the side mirrors will need defrosting if the rear window needs it.

My last car ran the mirror heaters constantly but with an embedded thermostatic cut-out in the glass itself (BMW) so they never required any attention. Before you ask, the car was 17 years old and the original mirrors still heated.

As previously posted, if you turn on your rear window defroster, it automatically activates the side view mirror heat. My base 06 Coupe that doesnt even have the Prem Package and has this standard. Id think the 07 Sedan would as well...

As for the guy who wants it to be attached to the windshield, Frost and Fog take different amounts of time for to dissipate when heated. Plus the mirrors are anit-fog which is why they don't get foggy even when the rear window is.
It is not a dumb design if you read the manual and knew that the rear window defogger turned on the side mirror heater. It kind of goes hand in hand and becomes second nature once you know. Its like all these people asking what the low tire pressure symbol means and cursing Infiniti for using such a stupid symbol, when it is in fact an industry standard.
All it takes is a quick scan of the owners manual and most of these stupid Infiniti design quirks will be answered.
Would you automatically know all of the features of an Iphone or any new gadget without first reading their manual?

my old car didn't have a 'dumb design' all you had to do was think about how foggy the mirrors were, and the heater would turn on to you thinking about it. as well as my car didn't have gas or break pedals since thats a dumb design too, if you have to think about how fast or slow you want to go, its just a dumb design. my old car just decided your speed for you so you wouldn't have to think, since thinking is bad, i hate thinking.
haha, sorry, i had to do it
My TL has a separate button for the side mirrors. i think my old maxima was like the G where it would turn on with the rear window defrost... I couldn't tell if the G's defrost works, since it's garaged since day1....
All of the designs above are excellent compared to my old 1997 Audi A4. Heater mirrors were on ALL THE TIME. There was no way to turn them off. The heating elements failed within a year. Once the warranty was up, I stopped asking the dealer to replace them.

My Maxima works the same as the G. I have no issues with this design either.
My 01 IS300 has heated side mirrors that I believe are thermostat controlled as well--they just work w/o having to turn anything on. That said, I don't find that having to use the rear defrost on my 08 G35 to activate its side mirror heating is a downgrade or dumb in any way. The only thing dumb here is people that can't RTFM.
