16.7 mpg on 07 G Sedan?
I bought my 2007 G35 S this past July. Ever since then, my digital mpg reading in my car has been 16.7. When I drive on the freeway it goes up to 16.9 and when I drive in the city, it tends to go to 16.7 ...
Is this normal? I went in for a 3K oil change and asked someone at Santa Monica Infiniti why it was so low and he told me I have to wait until I get up to 10-15K mileage and then, once broken in, the mpg would increase.
However I spoke to a friend with the same car and he's had 21 mpg since he got his.
I was wondering if anyone else is having horrible mpg in their 07 G35 Sedan. What you guys think of this? Also, if you have a 07 G Sedan, post how many mpg your dash is currently showing.

depends on what kind of driving you do, if it's 95% city driving with a lot of gas, brake, honk, gas, brake, honk... and especially if you're aggressive (gas and not let people cut in front of you and brake at last minute), then yes, i can believe 16 mpg
if you take a road trip and go like 200 miles somewhere without freeway congestion, you'll see it go to twenty something mpg...

Yes, my foot is the problem also. When I first got the car my MPG meter was reading 12~13. LOL Now that I'm MORE careful, LOL, I get about 17 MPG.
But for a 3.5L engine that puts out 306HP, I think it's reasonable.... maybe.

I'm very happy with its engine and pick up. I'd love some more torque in the upper RPMs but mostly Im happy.
I do spend most of my time driving in the city and I do enjoy the drive with quick accelerations once in a while, and I defintely see how a 3.5L 306 hp engine could impede good has mileage, I just didn't think it would be that bad. The FX is suppose to get around 16-17. We're suppose to get at least 18-24, no?

I'm on my third tank of gas and I reset the mileage every time i fill in. 2nd tank my foot was just a little heavy and i got like 18.5 I've been trying to see how high i can go with this tank and i drive about 50/50 city highway and i'm averaging 19.5 mpg. Wish it was better but then again I do love the get up and go. Only 900 miles so I haven't pushed it yet.
