Radio Stations reset? All the time.

I don't know if i am doing something wrong to make this happen all the time. But it seems to get worse? Ill turn on the car on with everything fine, stereo playing. Then i try to switch the channel and my stations clear? Reset. Like the car was new. I reset a few and let it go for a few weeks and it happened again. Ive now gotten it to happen a total of 4 times all at times ranging from 2 weeks to 2 months apart. Anyone else get this problem or is it something im doing? I could not imagine what. Thanks.

KC

No problem with mine in the last year.
The only thing I can think of that would do that is disconnecting the battery.

My car was in the shop for 7 weeks with the battery disconnected and my presets are still there.

Thanks, Well I learned something new, I was sure all station presets were lost when the battery was disconnected.

What I would love is a list of things that do need to be reset when the cable is disconnected. I'm going crazy trying to find everything!

maybe you are changing from the A, B, and C presets, and each 'page' had no settings so it looked like it was cleared. just a thought

Mine were all gone along with my seat/steering wheel memory settings when I got my car back. I also had to reset the anti-pinch mechanism in the windows.

Did you find out what caused it Christian?

Wish that was it, but i actually had all 18 cleared the first 2 times. Then i programmed only A1-6 the last 2 times and those cleared too.
Bottom line the cars gotta go in.

I dont think its the battery since i have never had it go dead on me. So that pretty much states somethings not right with the car.

I assume it was just the battery being disconnected while they worked on my car, it hasn't happened again so I'm not worried.

that sucks, i had my battery unplugged for a whole night and everything stayed the same so i'm pretty sure you can count that out

I've had this happen as well. Noticed it was specific to the trunk CD changer, more specifically disc 6. If I was listening to disc 6 when I turned the car off, there was a 20% chance my presets would reset. Possibly a short? I took the easy fix, and now make sure I'm not using the changer when the car is turned off.
