Bottom line, as far as I know, there's nothing you can do about those two inches.

So, back to what we can control.... the reflash.

Before the reflash, the first two inches thing bothered me too. But, that's only because if I pushed too quickly past the two inches there was..... delay.... wiplash.

Now, I can just breeze past the first little bit in the pedal with no worries. Throttle response is "better" because I can control it better. It reacts predictably so I can get quick response or slow response easier.

Tap the gas, the response is excellent and predictable now. I just don't know what you can do about the 2 inches thing.

I've got an idea:

Drill hole in floor.
Drill hole in top of brake pedal.
Install crimpable metal anchors onto a braid wire.
Screw anchor to floor.
Screw anchor to pedal.

Make the wire short enough that the pedal never returns to original position.

Merry Christmas!

i did experience the "touchiness" of the throttle for like the first 3 days. and then it becomes like any other car you change to, you get used to it. i don't think mankind has made it this far if we did not understand how to adapt. i'm with you kre, no reflash needed here.

I respectfully disagree. My G seems to react more AND more linearly in the first two inches than it had before. It just doesn't go from nothing to crazy at two inches. I am very happy with the change. This was from the 045 reflash, btw.

i just think once you get used to it, there is no such thing as "nothing to crazy" unless you have a really really bad short-term muscle memory

has anyone had the dealership automatically do the re-flash without asking your permission? or do you have to approach the people at the dealership and say, "hey, i want the ecu reflash from the 2008's"?

First, it's not a "2008 ecu reflash."

It's a cruise control surging problem fix. The cruise control surges when driving downhill because the throttle settings are too aggressive.

And, if you don't complain about that, they aren't going to fix it.

You just have more precision/control over the throttle.

I definitely prefer control over nothing nothing nothing JERK. Now if I want to go faster, I push the pedal farther down. No biggie.

Throttle response is still fantastic. That didn't change. I just have the ability to give 1%, 5% 10% or whatever throttle. Before it's 0% 20% etc.

It doesn't take any longer for me to get to 20%, 50%, or 100% throttle than before. I just have the ability to ease into the throttle if I WANT to now.
Just got back from the dealer after having the ICC fixed and reflash done. Couldn't agree more with the quote above. The reflash takes nothing away... just adds control.

see this quote above again leads me to believe that all the pedal is now used with the reflash. So what is it, does the car now respond instantly and when you get to 20% throttle its moving nice and smooth, or are the first 2 inches still dead, and now instead of a rush of acceleration at 20% throttle we have a gradual increase and the rush is even further down the pedal, like 50%.

I would like to test the reflash out to see if i like it first. I was told i could test drive the 08 thou. Personally i like the tippy feel off the line; however, i rarely use my cruise control on hills.
