Illuminated Kickplates

just installed my infiniti kick plates as well. they been sitting in my truck for over 2 years.
the install was very simple. took me about 1 hr while messing around and drinking beer.
i'd honestly say the hardest part is just tucking the wire and making sure that it's clean. other then that, you're just pulling out a few pieces here and there, unscrewing things here and there, and then putting it back together. if ANYTHING, taking off the glove compartment box will be annoying.....
not really =P

Yes, different people have different views. My opinion: I have looked at both the infiniti and lexus plates in person, and no doubt the lexus look more nice and charming: the whole crystal part will light up, with the 'lexus' logo with different reflection effect make it highlighted.
The infiniti one is indeed very fantastic too, it's really good. But when compared with lexus, many of my friends admit that lexus is better at interior design/built quality. Yup, no one would bother where the G35 parts is made in, the G35 is not built in Japan, so Taiwan built parts is OK. Lexus is made in Japan with nearly all parts made in Japan also, maybe that's why its built quality is higher.
It's quite hard to justify via words, just take a look and get a touch feeling on both parts you will know what I mean.

In any case. however, most of the parts are not made specifically from that country anymore. It is now more of a culmination of parts from different companies that can make them the cheapest around the world. It doesn't matter whether it is a Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, etc.

2003 sedan
so fedex delivered my kickplates today, i opened them up, and i loved the fit and finish of them, i'm excited to see how they'll look installed. BUT.......im worried about this installation lol. i wont be doing it today or tomorrow because i dont have time, but i'll probably give it a shot on sunday and try to have them done before my brad johnson-led (thank god romo is back for the next game) cowboys get spanked around by the giants. i read through the directions, and it seems like a bit much to me. i did go out to my car and quickly pop off some of the panels, so that shouldn't be too big of a problem, at least the fear of breaking those panels has gone away. but i dunno, in the directions the part where i plug the T harness into the car's BCM in the passenger footwell looked confusing. so for those of you that have installed these, i have a few questions.
1. do i have to disconnect the battery?
2. do i have to tape all those wires together with the urethane foam tape?
3. are all of the tie wraps necessary?
4. do i really have to pop off every panel that the directions tell me to? i feel like i wouldn't have to pop off the panel right under the glove box or that same panel on the driver side, and i also don't want to because my OEM footwell lighting is installed in that panel and i don't wanna **** it up.
5. are there any other steps i can skip in this installation?
thanks for any help.

Are there available kickplates specifically for the sedan or would the coupe kickplates work as well? Also i have kickplates that look nice but i want illuminated ones. Does anyone know if that is possible?
