Quarter Panel
My G35 was in an accident. It has been at the body shop for 2 week now and I get a call today saying that the quater panel is on back order from Japan for 2-3 weeks. They say that when they do get it in it will be another 10 days.
Should I wait for the new quarter panel or get them to fix the one that was damaged? They assured me it will be perfect.

there is only so much they can knock the metal out. after that its all minor filing and putty. putty doesn't resist shock and flex as well as metal though. i think its better to wait then have a crack later on. do u have rental insurance? if its not your fault u can just call up the other insurance and ask for rental with your claim # and direct bill to them.

My quarter panel was also dented in pretty badly when I had an accident around April last year along with the rear door, but my body shop fixed it flawlessly. Also, it only took them about 10 days total.

Otherwise, I'd wait for the fix. My car was out of service for over 2 months after my accident and it sucked, but I'd rather things be done right. Fortunately, all my damage was internal. No body work at all.
