You know, these brakes worked against my current car in two accidents. My father, the previous owner, got slammed from the rear twice when car suddenly stopped ahead of him. In both instance, the car behind him skidded for a while before slamming into his rear bumper... so yeah. Double edged sword.

1. he doesn't pay for repairs. as long as he's ok, that's all we gotta worry about
2. eventually all cars will have this technology and that won't be a problem anymore.

But yeah, we have great brakes, saved my a$$ a bunch of times even in our crazy northern california storms

At least 10 times for me.

I probably wouldn't have my legs and arms if it weren't for my brakes.

Sucks that the two accidents happened to him - but it sounds like the alternative was that he runs into the car in front of him. How would that have been better?

I'd rather have the ability to save myself, and other cars can try and avoid me.

Your friend ends up puking all over your dash because of the stop and go, thus disabling your controls of the car, and since he told you to go on a deserted road, your cell phone's don't get reception... now you're stuck with a sick friend in the middle of no where

Any of you ever try the EBD? Try this with your friends (on a nice deserted road)

Put your friend behind you (left rear passenger seat), go up to about 60, and then, let go of the steering wheel, and slam on the brakes.

Then put your friend in the front right passenger seat, and repeat.
umm...
"EBD"?
Emergency Bowel Discharge?

EBD adjusts the braking force from wheel to wheel making sure the car tracks straight while stopping. Otherwise, one or two wheels may skid on ice forcing the car to rotate.

exactly what he said.

Basically, it comes down to you will always brake in a straight line, even if you let go of the steering wheel (as long as you were going straight to begin with and the road isnt at some funky angle)

If you have more weight on the left, the left side is braked more to help you stop evenly. If you have more weight in the rear, the rear brakes are used more to help you stop faster. Win-Win scenerio

You know, I agree with everyone... I suppose I was just griping because after the second accident (and right before I got the car), the trunk was not fixed correctly so there is a small gap on the right side. But again, small price to pay for having great brakes (and tires)!
