G35-G35x height difference (suspension?)
G35-G35x height difference (suspension?)
The G35x is about 0.6" taller than the G35. Why is that?
Does the G35 and G35x (with sport package) have the same suspension? The suspension seems to be the only place to put that extra height.
I am pretty sure the information I am getting from my local dealer on this subject is wrong. I think I read this discussion several months ago (I have been lurking for about six months) but I don't recall and couldn't find it.
I have been trying to decide between a Journey and an X. I like AWD, but handling is a significant concern. I think I will get better performance out of a lower ride height, bigger rotors and less weight than I would get from the AWD.

Honestly, unless you're comparing an X to an S equipped with 4WAS, you're not going to see THAT big of a handling difference.
I personally think the X handles remarkably well.
If your dealer is anything like mine, your test drive turned your hair gray and your skin pure white. My salesguy had me doing things to that test car that I wouldn't dream of doing to a rental!
Test drive both and make your own decision.
But if you like AWD and worry about the X handling like a semi... don't

My wife who used to drive my 04 Z as well says this car handles better and is more fun to drive than the Z. I agree.

LOL.... That looks like me when I go to the gun range.
I used to tear up those roads in my Jeep Grand Cherokee... took all of 15 seconds to get up the rocky gravel hills.
Now, it takes forever in the beloved G. I idol up the whole way, afraid of spitting a rock up or something.
I need a beater... should have kept the Tacoma.
