Undoing the Reflash

Hey everyone. I've been lurking for a while and I decided to join in on the fun. These forums are very informative. I sold my '01 Prelude for the G and I couldn't think of a new sn so I decided to just keep this one instead of adding another Infiniti sn to the millions already on here.

So my question is, can you undo the reflash? I tried using the search function, but didn't really find anything (wasn't looking too hard either.) I kind of miss the way the car would accelerate pre-reflash. Now the car feels slower with a lag in response time. That's great for daily driving, but I think I'd rather just learn to deal with the touchy throttle off the line in exchange. I want to undo the reflash and not have to pay for it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Service rep at my local dealership stated the same thing. He and I both prefer the 07 G35 without the reflash. He also mentioned the G35s AT was faster than the G35s 6 speed MT.

Don't forget about Cobb Tuning's AccessPort; I'm buying one as soon as they come out.

Thanks...

Now I'm rethinking mynext visit.
It was going to include an Oil Change, Rear Sway Bar Replacement (it thumps), and 08 ECU Flash.
I may cancel the reflash. I love my throttle response now, especially right off the line.
My foot (and the wife's neck) have gotten used to it.

Wow your dealer is BSing you, there's absolutely no reason they can't flash the ECU again with the original firmware to give you back the touchy throttle. It's like saying once you upgrade to Vista, you can't go back to XP. Of course you can. They're just being lazy.

Not sure if this question has been asked, but does the flash upset the 0-60 times? Trying to understand if there is a true performance sacrifice here.

Not at all, may even improve it because you can control the acceleration and keep it just under breaking loose for the first 20mph.

It's just as fast off the line, the only difference is you need to press the gas pedal a little further. i.e. on the old ECU give the pedal 20% and you got 20% of
the throttle. now if you give the pedal 20% you probably get 15% throttle. as you approach the higher 50% range, I think it's all the same.

My car does not feel any slower after reflash. I probably would not have had it done if cruise control surge (28a) and cold start symptoms listed in 045 were not actually occurring on my car. The cold start issue was the most disconcerting issue for me rather than the CC surge. I was used to the throttle response prior to flash. I could go either way on throttle response.

I'm sure the TSB doesn't make the car any slower in actual time. It just FEELS slower. I've emailed my service advisor to see if the reflash can be undone. I'll keep you guys posted.
