I'm curious about this as well.
There's a noticeable difference between the volume of air my a/c puts out comparing recirculation mode with outside air. (recirc blows much harder).
I'm wondering if this is a sign.
I did pull my air filter out the other day and cleaned it (with a dry vac). It was pretty dirty. I'm cheap and don't feel like driving an hour to the dealership at this point.
But, there's still a difference in how hard the air blows on recirc mode. Anyone else have this problem?

I just replaced mine this weekend, I've been lazy and didn't do it for a while I had about 30k miles on mine and it looked like a black lung. anyway's wow what a difference it makes. The AC seems much colder now, don't know why but it is. FYI I purchased it from Checkers Auto parts, was only 11 bucks.

I'll be going through these guys next.
I bought a cabin filter from these guys for $25 for our MDX after Acura told me it was $55-.
Until recently, this site only listed up to 2006 G35's.
I sent them an email and they confirmed that the same filter for the 03-06 would fit and they then updated the website.
Looks like we now have another option.
I was happy with the service, speed of delivery, and the product was top notch.

Cabin Air Filter Sourcing
My own two cents - there are just a few OEMs that produce cabin filters for Japanese makes...Unless you really want the carbon impregnated versions (had one in my previous 2006 A4 and it did help vs non-carbon) >>>> the best bet is just to head over to your local Advance Auto Parts and buy a Purolator C35530 for $11.88...
I've replaced tons of cabin filters in my Honda, Acura, Toyota and Infiniti rigs and this is by far to best overall way to go...especially if you are replacing every 15K miles (by 30K they are pretty filthy - and I'm in Western NY without much dust or pollutants)...

The Japanese need to get with the Germans on this stuff...An Audi A4 cabin filter is under the hood, near where a G35 battery compartment is, and takes literally 60-90 seconds to change...About the only "behind the glovebox" set ups that are quick are newer Toyota products (like the 08+ Highlander)...You are right, no excuse for the BS involved in a lot of the cabin filter changes...

Sorry for bringing up an old topic but I didn't want to start a new thread for this info.
Found another brand of cabin filter for the '07+ G35 sedans. We can use Fram FreshBreeze cabin filters with carbon and baking soda. I know that Fram doesn't make the best stuff around but I figure that since it is merely a "comfort" filter, not a lot at stake like the intake filter.
