Wow, I cannot agree more with this last post. A few miles here, a few miles there. Its not that much money. If you can truly afford this car then you wont be stretching yourself. Who doesn't love smashing the gas some times?

I consistently get more than 400 on a tank before the low gas alert goes on. This is driving around town, granted Austin is more rural than most cities. My computer usually reads around 24 mpg.

I've stretched highway trips to over 500 before I filled up (nursing it and driving on alert for 25ish miles). You guys must drive like mad men. Even when I do a lot of lead footed driving I still get to 400 at least.

Someone on here said 13.7 mpg; I don't even know how that's possible outside of a race track.

Your gas also has to do with the speed your traveling at. You will get better gas mileage @ 40 than say @ 20. Also the g burns gas at idle. Also where you live has to with it. I dont know if any of you guys noticed, that the guys in Cali, Florida and Texas get better mileage than say more traffic prone areas such as NY, NJ and CT!

There is definitely a huge discrepancy from one G to another. I too had 12mpg while breaking in the car with NO lead foot. 3 oil changes later, I'm at 15. My tank has range has been averaging 250-275 since the last oil change for mixed driving.

Does weather play a role in gas consumption? Because by the looks of things, the owners residing in warmer states are getting better MPG than owners like me who are stuck in Jersey or northeast in general.

Yes, the colder weather will definitely decrease your fuel efficiency. Each time you start your car it takes longer for it to reach their normal operating temperature in colder temps. Air density is also a cause.

I would think that average temperature does play a factor but that factor is primarily limited to the percentage of anti-freezing additives that are (not) added to the fuel mix.

+1

I know my cars would LOVE to be on 93... the butt dyno tells me that my STI was definatey faster on high octane... Even the manual says 93 is recommended for that car. 91 is the MINIMUM for STIs.... (and Z06's and EVOs)

I do about 95% city driving, stop and go, average speed less than 25. My average sits at about 18-19 mpg.

I use 93, mostly from Shell since thats the gas station right next to my house.

Yup....less populated areas mean less traffic on the road.
BTW-how many of you are stuck in stop-n-go traffic every morning?
Even if you are on the highway/freeway/expressway, you do have to remember that the more constant your speed the more efficient your engine is working and when you're bumper to bumper traveling xxx miles in 1st and 2nd gear your G is working harder than it needs to(not sure that I phrased it right but I think you guys and gals can figure out what I mean..... ).

alot of east coast states have 93 i guess since cali is cheap .... as for gas tanks i get like 325-350 per fill up (i fill when the light comes on) btw i didnt know we had a 3gal reserve! but do i really want to test it when that light comes on most likely NOT lol. even though thats an extra like 60miles. i average 21mpg when driving 75 on freeway, and its like 80%freeway/20% city. when i went on a desent trip this weekend 250miles i think it was i averaged 24.9mpg.

i got 275-290per tank and about 18.5-19 mpg before my intakes and in summer driving of 50/50. Thats a lot of spirited driving mixed in.

now with intakes-250-260per tank and about 16.5-17.5mpg. A littlemore mpg, but this is mainly during the winter.

I use BP/amaco ONLY and i think we might be getting the winter gas mix down here. maybe i just put the pedal down to much.

I wonder what the outcome will be in a week after i get the fast intentions exhaust.

Thanks, Infiniti. I wasn't a car person before I bought your product but I count the hours I spend in her as the best hours of my day.

awesome well said, I don't usually say anything about gasmilage. If I was worrying too much I would of bought a Prius. I love the G and I don't check my gasmilage. I am getting probably around 12-13.

TG, I agree. In fact, my wife does drive a Prius. Not a bad little vehicle for what it is. Very useful. Not at all fun to drive, unless you enjoy watching the fuel economy gauge and play a game of trying to maximize it.

Interesting that the G does have an instantaneous mpg display. Sometimes I use it to notice how little changes can save me mpg. But, mostly I just drive and enjoy my G.

well normally i average about 345 per tank because all the highway driving i get done (07 sedan bought new 4/18/07 with 22k now) but after sundays morakami bbq + bullrun lol, my gas milage went down to 200 miles on a full tank. i love those sprot paddles. after 2 days of normal driving to and from work (45 miles each way) my milage has begun to go back up. i couldnt beleive from driving it hard one day it would lower my average mpg ffrom 18.3 to 17.1.
