From what I have heard and read, it is not worth it and is very complicated to work out with the Push Button Ignition /// YMMV

My dealer is offering this as an in-house service for $750. So it can be done, but not worth it for me with that kind of price. I'm sure they're contracting a shop to do it and charging extra.

Hey guys,

Its not that hard to do it if you are an installer. HOwever, the price of adding an aftermarket alarm on top of the remote starter is nominal. I recommend that you install a 2 way paging alarm for that comfort.

What you need is the IDATALINK module..

I have a Compustar 2 way paging alarm PRO SERIES with the I-datalink.

I have the remote starter installed in my 2008 G35x. Installed by the dealer. I'm using the infiniti key fab, instead of having the second remote. If you use your key fab, hit lock 3 times in 5 sec and it works. Distance with key fab is 500 feet. With second starter remote it is 750-1000ft. Infiniti's cost is $400, but they charge you about $750. They splt their cost with me when I purchased the car.

Would it? My sister-in-law's new Camry has this as a factory option. You know how elite Camry's are...

I really like this feature, but its not exactly revolutionary.

With G's being so "upscale" you would think that they would have this option by now, they claim to be sooo advance in tech, but now even the Altima has the same options...

Thats interesting, maybe you can help us out by finding out how it was done, what brand of equipment was used etc.

I too am interested in remote start and so far I have heard of compustar being used with a module from some other company to make it all work, but the idea of carrying 2 remotes is not appealing. I do not need remote start for my home but when I go out in the winter etc or summer am parked near where i am at it could prove useful.
