Blue Slate Interior
Hi
Really enjoy the site. I plan on getting an 08 Journey in the next few weeks. My preferred color combination is BS w/graphite. I have been told by two dealers in the Atlanta area that the bs/graphite combo is not anywhere in the SouthEast. The dealer closest to me does have one coming in w/Prem and Nav by the end of the month.
So I could wait until then but I wasnt sure I really wanted Nav other than for the backup camera. BS w/stone are plentiful. There is one at my closest dealer right now w/Prem and Performance Tire Package but no nav. My question is does the Stone interior hold up pretty well? Is it hard to keep clean?
My second choice for color is [edit]PG w/graphite. Those are plentiful as well.
Thanks,
-RD

From what Ive heard, the Stone interior is quick to pick up dye from new jeans or from new shirts and such. The graphite interior hides all of this but if not maintained religiously, you will easily notice cracks and creases in the leather. Overall, the graphite leather is definitely the better looker and IMO looks sportier than the stone. Pick up a car with graphite bro, youll be glad you did.
BS/Graphite is hot. Sorry to hear you have to wait, I had one coming on a ship and I waited a week. At the time, there were very little BS/Graphite with all the packages. You're going to be with this car for a good while so make sure you choose something that makes you smile everytime you get in the car!
Oops, I also agree with the above statement regarding stone interior.

i have BS/stone. I wnated BS/graphite, but when I saw the BS/stone, I liked it. The graphite is nice, but the infiniti's black leather really doesn't take a beating well.
the only drawback of the stone is it needs cleaning alot, especially with two dogs.
Of course that's only if you want it to look perfect. I've learned to live with the paw prints and slight blemish and clean and condition it twice a year and am perfectly happy with it.

Stone is easy to keep clean without pets or kids. I have not had issues at all and I wear jeans almost every day in car. Interior looks brand new and no creases in driver seat either. Maybe my use of Lexol every few weeks helps?

BS&Stone here too, actually had a choice of both (on the lot at the same time), Just like the lighter interior & haven't had any problems w/ teh stone getting dirty, IMO both look great, disregard what princealyy says, sounds like he's got other issues j/k
I went with the graphite and I love it. But I'm in Vermont.
Since you're in the Southeast, graphite interiors may get too hot in the summer sun and having a lighter interior would help keep your G cool.

Thanks to everyone for the quick replies. That helps a lot. I do like the graphite interior a little better than stone but both are really nice. I have thought about the heat issue as well. I actually thought that is why there were not many down here, but there are a lot of black on black so who knows...I would get the car tinted as soon as possible to balance that out.
If I could have found the bs w/graphite I would have bought this past weekend. Now I will probably try to wait out the one coming in toward the latter part of the month, or take a 2nd and 3rd look at the stone to make up my mind. Its going to be difficult.. It is a fantastic car.
Also, for 2nd choice I meant to say PG not DP.
Thanks

My last car, a Mazda6, also had gray interior/seats. Here's why I chose stone for my G:
1) It feels more luxurious than graphite, but less old and yuppy than beige. I didn't want dark leather because it's too aggressive for my taste, and too dark.
2) The lighter color makes the interior brighter, which makes the cabin feel larger.
3) Parts of the dash and doors are still black, so the gray gives the cabin a two-tone look.
4) Less likely to see creases.
I did, however, buy graphite floor mats, because the stains and dirt on the stone ones are too visible -- and I spilled something on the rear mat.
