I did a quick calculation ... the horizontal displacement for 1 degree camber is = (tire radius) x tan(1 deg) which for a 26.5" tire is roughly 6mm on the tire centerline.

It just seems really close to me ... but you do have a lot more hands on experience than I do.

hans127 ... I'm sure it will get in there given the right amount of camber. +35 would be a record for a 10" wheel. Kalvin has +38 on his 10" wheels, but he's using 255 tires.

Gdup35sedan - When running an aggressive set up, what brand or specific model tire do you recommend that would provide the most clearance, ie. which tire brand/model has the most rounded sidewall and the narrowest tread for a specific tire size like 275-30-20 and 245-35-20?

You cant have a round sidewall and a narrow tread, its either or with tires. The best and most cost effective tires for stretching are Falken 452's, but running a 245/275 setup isnt really aggressive.

Dont get me wrong, Hans' offsets are nice and what some people would call aggressive, but if you are really going to have an aggressive setup, you'd want 19x9/10 +25 all around with 235/255 tires and -2.0 degrees of camber.

The definition of an aggressive setup is getting the widest wheels you can with the lowest offsets possible and stretching the tires, combined with a little negative camber. Check out the aggressive wheel/tire setups thread in the picture share forum

That's 3mm more clearance than Hans' setup but he's also using a 275 tire which will give him 5mm less tire width on the outside so essentially he could run a +33 and still not rub with -1.8 camber. So with -1.5 he should be perfect with the +35 offset

wow, that was way too many numbers and math.. props Grant..

nope, no major here, i just understand the concept of it all. I'm majoring in architecture

but i used to be a noob just like everyone else and had no idea what offsets were. I learned most of it from Chico and then some from rijowysock and put all that knowledge together, along with observing other peoples setup's and testing out my own

Gdup...

hmmm After reviewing kalvinmaui's specs and wheel pics should I consider getting a semi stretch tire and go with 265/35 19s for the rear?...or would it not look as flush having an Eibach drop. I'm just worried there might be a hideous gap. The good thing would be less tire wear bcz i wouldn't have to camber it as much, right? The H&Rs are a little lower than the Eibachs.

You shouldnt have much of a gap with the eibach's, probably around a 1 finger gap which is perfect unless you slam it like i used to have my car.

so was my last statement correct?

regarding the tire size along with not having to camber it even more. I also want to go economical here for the sake of tires...i know it'll camber regardless, but just trying to get the most minimal camber. 255s might be too much stretch...but 265s might be aright?

with 265/35's you should be able to get to -1.1/1.2 which is barely within manufacturer specs. not much of a difference if you can get away with -1.5 on a 275/30

I set my friends coupe up with -1.5 camber in the rear and he currently has about 10k on his rear tires with atleast 50% left. So if you drive like a normal person, you should be able to get around 18k out of those falkens in the rear, if you flip them after 10k, you can get even more.

once the inside edge has about 25% left, you can flip flop the tires

You take the tire that was on the LR and mount it on the RR and same for the other side, now you have atleast 95% tread on the new inside and your tires last twice as long.
