Exhaust and intake makes car faster!

^^^^ 1,300 isnt exactly a TON of money for a bad a$$ full exhaust system and twin intakes...plus 1 or 2 car lengths in the quarter is the difference between a 13.8 and a 14.0...so i think the price justifies the results in this case
nice video!!!! i guess it proves that they do add power
"ALL OF THE STUNTS PERFORMED ON THIS MOVIE WERE COMPUTER GENERATED OR COMPUTER ENHANCED AND SHOULD NOT BE PERFORMED ON PUBLIC ROAD"
Nice to cover ur a$$

i would think the fact that the base model has an extra person in the car, plus the G35s has stickier summer performance tires have more of an affect on the race than the bolt-ons..... I think they say for every 100lbs (maybe 200lbs) u lose it's like a tenth of a second off your quarter mile time. Average person weighs ~160

After about 50 miles after i installed my dual long tube stillen, i can honestly say that the car felt peppier than it did before. I dont care what anybody says, anytime you reduce restriction in the intake and can increase velocity and decrease turbulence, then there is going to be a gain.

There is no satisfying some of you guys, with all the performance you get from the stock G you still want to more!!
The way I look at it is I outperfom 95% of the cars on the road on any given day. An example of the 5% is the 335i. I dont care much about the 335i cos the guy driving that car paid more than me and his car is not as nice to look at as mine nor is it as nicely appointed either.
This is just my opinion, there is nothing wrong with wanting more so go for it

A very slight difference in reaction time can have a big result on who takes the lead. Just a difference of 0.5 seconds is good for about 3 cars in the 1/4 mile. The true test to which car is actually quicker would be to take it to the strip so that you could see the reaction time and then look at the ET and MPH. That's where the truth would be revealed. Street racing is an absolute horrible way to gauge acceleration. I've outreacted and/or out 60 footed mid 13 second cars at the strip and got to the finish the first even through they posted better ETs and MPHs. In a street race, it would have appeared that my 14.3 second G was beating a 13.6 second LT1 F-body.
As for intakes, Cobb Tuning has stated that all aftermarket intakes on 03 to 08 G/Zs cause the air/fuel issues (lean conditions) and usually negatively impact performance, especially on the new HR motors. They even stated their own intake doesn't make squat on the dyno and to stick with the OEM intakes. You're kidding yourself if you think the aftermarket intakes are creating better flow and reducing turbulence. The aftermarket intakes often will cause significantly more turbulence in the lower rpms hence the reason a lot of people report a lack of torque in the lower rpms.

Ouch, if anything this video would KEEP ME from spending that kinda money on those mods!
The G35S should've pulled a carlength just from the passenger in the car.
Basically, it looks like $1300 for 5hp and a lot of extra noise.
If you really like the noise, go for it I guess. But, instead spend $200 just swapping out the mufflers and gutting the stock intakes. You'll net the same 5hp.

I was the guy driving the camera car G35 on this video, and I must say the diference in modification was felt. The OP and I had raced before without exhaust and I pulled on him close to 1 to 2 car lenghts. We figure it was the weight due to being a base form versus a loaded one. Now he pulled on me about a car. That is almost 3 car lenghts or more I would say. So given the choice of installing the exhaust, I would say do it cause it really shows . Apart that the car sounded awesome, especially at high revs!!
