For my fellow Ontarians, if you haven't seen it yet there is a petition to rid ourselves of the front license plate

This is from an old post in the Canada forum so don't repost the link as a new post please.

Back in the day, when I got a ticket for no front lic plate and I had to take my car in for inspection, I used double stick tape so that I wouldn't have to drill into my front bumper. It held the lic plate extremely well. That stuff is super strong. If industrial grade double stick tape works for stuff like spoilers and rear wings, holding a small lic plate is no problem. I think I drove around w/it for 2 months or so and it held on firmly - even after I washed my car a few times.

They are also quick to issue a citation for a front tag in the dash, and that just adds attention.
You can also be issued a citation (in MD at least) if your plate is too low/facing the ground/mounted in a non-OEM location. I believe the citation is 'Improperly/unmounted Registration Plates' and carries a fine.

Here's my $60 solution for a front license plate:
It's only $60 in MD if you get pulled over. Unless of course they give you a repair order, of which I would make the arguement that there was nothing to repair in the first place; no brackets were originally installed. Either way. Check your State law; then do what you want. Better than speeding!

www.infinitiplate.com sells front plate adapters that use the tow hook, but it says coming soon for the 07-08 G sedan and G37. It might be worth sending them an email to find out more though.

there is another option nobody has said
There are JDM license plate bracket mounts that will mount the plates to a surface parallel (and facing) the ground. This way you drill the holes at a place that won't be seen - i.e. you can take the plate and bracket off and no holes will show
