Hate to break it to you, but the 327hp in your ME spec G is the same as the US spec 306hp. They just have a different way of rating it which on paper looks higher.

1. North Americans don't regularly check webpages based in other countries.
2. A lot of companies detune engines especially if they don't want one car with the same engine ending up going faster than another car with the same engine. And the 335i is not underrated from the factory...if you're basing that statement because the 335i is faster than the G35...an extra 30 ft-lb of torque (48 ft-lb for the Euro spec G37 sedan) more than makes up for the 6 HP advantage our engines have.
3. "Over 310 PS" is marketing jargin, since 310 PS is literally 305.75 HP, they would be right, it does make over 310 PS. It wouldn't make sense for Nissan to claim that the "GT-R has over 400 HP", it would create the illusion that the GT-R barely makes more than 400 HP.

We won't know for sure until someone dynos the European VQ37 models or Nissan makes a statement. Unless you work for Nissan or get your info from someone who does, I don't think it's unreasonable to consider the possibility that the Euro VQ37 models actually aren't detuned from the North American counterparts.

At first I was a little jealous of the 7 speed auto.
But, the more I think about it, the less I care. I really don't drive on the highway much, so the slight increase in fuel economy wouldn't matter much.
Plus, from what I've read about autos with a lot of gears, they tend to "hunt" for gears a lot. Upshifting and downshifting all the time might get a little annoying. The gear spacing on the G35 5 speed seems pretty great. In order to make it "better" i'd just make 5th gear slightly taller. I don't see the need for 2 more gears. Option 2 would to keep the 5 gears the same, just add a double overdrive for a 6th gear.

I agree 1-4 are perfect. 5 is practically useless since it's only a 500 RPM difference over 4. making 5 more useful or just adding a 6th for when the car is over 60MPH would be perfect.
another thought would be for 6th to not lock the tranny and let the car coast, that's the biggest killer of gas is that you can't ever take your foot off the gas or the engine drags it down.
it's still the most amazing non-smg auto tranny every produced............

I have to disagree, 7 gears makes for less RPM when cruising. The FX50 with 7 gears did 0-60 in 5 seconds, thats .2 seconds slower than the 335i, very commendable for an SUV so I doubt the gearing will affect perfomance. If they bring the 7 speed, I am sure its going to come with an interior finishing close to the EX and the paint that heals itself. So the next generation G is going to be better than our 08/7 G. Sorry

It says that the 3.7 L V6 in the G37 sedan comes with 310 PS (thats metric hp) and 350 newton meters of torque (curse that stupid metric system that the rest of the world uses). Some simple conversions show that this equates to:
310 Metric HP = 305.75 HP
350 Nm = 258.11 lb-ft
So no matter what engine it has...it'll have the same hp us 07-08 folk enjoy.

I don't know, but I always figured that nissan would move all of their six bangers to 3.7 eventually. Probably makes sense from a manufacturing perspective. Especially so if the new 3.7 is more efficient.
Re: Detuning - It is not hard to believe that they will get more out of the 3.7 platform. I would suspect that they would even hold back the sedan vs. the coupe. Didn't they do exactly that with the first gen G?
Self healing paint, if it works, COOOOOL!
