Cannot fill car with gas?

I have been to three gas stations over the last 2 days to put gas in my car and it will take about 2 gallons and stop. The gas pump attendents have tried everything and of course spilling at least a gallon on my car everytime. Anyone have this problem, and a fix? thanks

Hmm, just saw a thread about this from an 07 coupe owner (I think). Try searching.

pull the pump out a little bit, i remember there being a thread about that. it happened to me once too, it kept clicking like it was done when clearly i had an empty tank.

Had this problem with my FX every now and then. I just turned the gas pump upside down and it worked. I'm sure taking it to the dealer will fix it though.

i have occasionally had this problem also - I just go to another pump at the same gas station and no problem - i think it is maybe a combination of the pump adjustment/sensor setting and the quirks of the car when it happens.

I have this problem intermittently, it seems to hit me then stick around for 3 weeks an ultimately disappear immediately after I call the dealership to book a service appointment. It's less dramatic for me, it will take approximately 14.5 gallons before it starts spilling on the car. I tried the upside down nozzle thing and it just made it worse.

I think your car may be the activist type and is going on a gas hunger strike in protest of the exorbitant prices. Wait till the prices drop then fill-up.

1st gen G35s had this problem. The dealer would replace fuel tanks to fix it. I had it off and on with my 04 G35.

i imagine it might be a slightly twisted filler neck hose. it connects the fillerneck and gas tank. if installed incorrectly it creates a slight kink and will cause this. dealer should fix free of charge.

My car has done it a few times, but hasn't in the last 6 months.

Good luck proving it to a dealer though. You'll have to show them the problem.

Just fill the car slowly at first and a bit faster and faster and you'll be fine. It's an annoyance more than anything.

I used to have this issue to. You just need to move the nozzle a little bit to the right or left and it would go away.
