What happens when TPMS sensors are gone

Hey guys,

Thinking of buying summer rims/tires.

Just wanted to know, what happens when I put rims on that don't have the sensors on them.

Does the dash blink, beep annoyingly, does it stop blinking, etc?

Curious if I can live with the TPMS warnings during the summer season.

Thanks.

Sensor warning....!

I get it, "Summer tires!" There's no noise just a little RED warning gizmo on your dash. You should be
able to live with that for a few months!

The TPMS light stays on. Permanently.

Why don't you have sensors installed? They work fine with most aftermarket
wheels. You can even find them on our Marketplace....cheap!

Resetting the TPMS requires a trip to the dealership. Having a second set means 2 trips a year.

When re-installing the tires with TPMS, place them at the same position as when you've removed them. The light goes away

Not necessarily, my local independent repair shop can reset the tpms. With the increased implementation of tpms, shops have to deal with them every day.

or somehow disable that tpms warning light, aka cutting a wire, lol (please don't cut wires)

tpms is a cool little feature, what's cooler is if would actually tell us the tire pressure amount like other luxury cars

Did the 03 model have the tpms sensors also? I dont think that my car has them. I have had a tire with low pressure in it and nothing come up on the dashboard. My car is an early production 03 coupe.

I wish it would tell me which tire was low. The sensor goes off when they are just under and I end up having to check all 4 tires which I guess isn't such a bad thing.

Thanks guys!
OK, so let me clarify here...

TPMS warning light stays on solid, no beeps.

Once this TPMS light comes on, the only way to reset it is to go to the dealer (or shop) to have it reset ???????????
