well i just got back from a 6k mile road trip across i-40. over the 6k miles i traveled i averaged 25-26 mpg. mind you speed limits as well as the terrain vary largely. as far as sections go i will try and break it down the best i can.

from so cal to holbrook az - avg speed 79 mph and avg mpg was 25.5

holbrook az to new mexico boarder - avg speed 75 mph and avg mpg 26

new mexico/az border to yukon oklahoma - avg speed 76 mph and avg mpg 29.1 (yes this is correct)

yuokon okla to nashville tenn - avg speed 73 mph and avg mpg 27.2

nashville to gainsville florida - avg speed 74 mph and avg mpg was 25.7

gainsville florida to orlando - avg speed 80 mph and avg mpg was 24.5

stayed in orlando for a few weeks and filled up once and average 24 mpg touring the area.

orlando to nashville tenn - avg speed 75 mph and avg mpg 25.4

nashville to yukon oklahoma - avg speed 74 mph and avg mpg 26

yukon to kingman az - avg speed 75 mph and avg mpg 25.7

kingman to home in so cal - avg speed 95+ mph and avg mpg 24.3 (yes this is right too)

i filled up with premuim fuel from shell on the way there. please remember that not all states have the same oct ratings on their pump gas. for example ca premuim is 91 oct, new mexico premuim i think was 90 oct, and other states have 93 oct or 94 oct for their premuim. i used premuim from conoco fuels on the trip back home and well as for the hot rodding around orlando area.

have any other questions feel free to ask and i will try to respond the best i can.

I just took my first road trip and got 27.5 mpg on all highway driving usually around 75+ mph. Way better than the 16-18 in the city I've been getting.

Damn.. I don't know how you guys are getting such high mileage, especially when the window sticker stated 24mpg on hwy.. I get about 13.4 to 14.5 in the city (if I'm good up to 15.8) and highway like 21 max @ 70...

Just did a round trip from LA to SF - average speed 95.1, MPG 21.5.

I guess the 19's and tires make more of an impact than I would have thought.

Oh well...much better than my old Jeep SRT8 at 12 highway.

Hi all,
I don’t know what you are all talking about 19. 24, 30 MPG. I live in Brooklyn, NY and I can get on A93 full tank 20 gallons City only 200 miles-10MPG no more.

^^
perhaps you need to stop peeling off every time you take off?

that was my problem when I just got the car.. after driving a slow 4 banger, it was.. well.. quite an upgrade...
I still have to restrain myself...

Ok,
Round trip 2miles with the average 10-11 MPH, bunch of the stop sign’s and 100’s red lights. Now you know how it’s like.
