2008 G35 AWD w/ Premium Package ... or wait for 09?

275 a month!?

Fine Print:
24mo closed end lease. 12,000 miles yr. Total due at signing includes $2,999
down cash or trade, first payment. Security Deposit waived. Total cost of
lease $9,599. Excludes taxes, license, and fees.

I've never leased a car before, but heard that you're not suppose to put money down on one.
What kind of hidden fees should I look out for?
What kind of monthly payments would I be looking at with $0 down?

Is it worth it to buy an 08 now, or wait for the 09 G37 coming out in late fall?

From a gas point of view.. I would say get an G35 rather than a G37. Do you really need 30 more HP? 306 HP is plently

It's like buying a computer, there's always something newer and better that'll come out. If you keep waiting, you'll never buy anything.

Why wait for the unknown? Who knows if it'll be much better (or different at all?)

If you like the car, go for it.

Leases are good, for people who change cars every 2-3 years. If you normally keep cars longer, stay away from the lease.

IMO, the "best" deal out there is a used 07 G35. That's what I bought almost a year ago, for $26k even. I got a great deal.

It's $399 / month to rent the car and when you are done you have nothing. If that sounds appealing leasing may be for you.

I found that leasing makes sense if you can expense it as I used to do when I was incorporated. The reasons you don't want to put any money down are:

1) It defeats the point of a lease - if you have a down payment use it to purchase.

2) If the car is totaled you are out the down payment, and a car.

3) The future value of the $3k may be more than additional interest if it were wrapped into the lease.

My buddy is incorporated and leases a lot of cars and always goes with the $0 down, $0 due at signing. Do a google search and you can get all the pros and cons of leasing but often people say it is a bad idea.

Why do you people keep saying get a g35 to save on gas? Do you people know that the 3.7 gets better mileage then the 3.5 does?

I would wait for the G37 Sedan. The 7 speed auto should provide better mpg along with a much more refined car.

If that is the case.. my bad. I guess its just that common assumption that with a bigger engine... it would result in a bigger gas consumption.

I'm not a lease fan, just not right for me. As far as buying now vs. later though, I really like the G35, and who knows what new features will arrive? I'd buy now, and work a really good deal.

I just bought a G35x and I prolly should have waited. The new 7speed auto and the little things in the new sedan is worth it.

Don't worry about it. That 7 speed auto while crusing is going to be shifting up and down the gears so much it will probably drive a lot of people insane.
I just picked up my G35Xs 2 days ago and got the great finance and got almost 5k off the msrp.

Also not too mentioned there will probably be some bugs in the transmission that will need to be sorted out.

It depends on your financial situation. The G37 sedan with all of its upgrades will have a bump in MSRP, although probably not too much of a bump, while the current 08 G35's will have some good deals has dealers try to clear out remaining inventory as the 2009's begin to come in. Which probably won't be until around August-November.

I agree lease not such a hot idea.. and if you keep putting it off you'll never buy. I have an 08 and f'n love it! I financed, plan to keep it and not pay for something that in the end you A. don't get to keep, and B. that if you wanted to buy it in the end they rape you on the price!
