Too Hot for the G???
Too Hot for the G???
Let me start by saying I am in Arizona....and it's July....and my G is black (bad combo...I know!!!) I forgot to put my sunshade up today and when I left work the LCD between my speedo and tach was almost unreadable. It was extremely dark and I could barley make out anything. As I drove home, and the A/C finally did its job and the car was somewhat cool the LCD got brighter and brighter. By the end of my 30 minute commute my LCD was back to normal. Is my LCD going out, or can heat have this effect on LCD's???
By the way the one thing I could make out on the LCD was 122 F

Move my friend. You must be the closest to the hell on this forum.
sorry I had to.
I experienced something like that with my watch. I was fishing a whole summer couple of years ago and left my wrist watch on the sand for hours. Every day had just like you said. Then few weeks later the watch gave up and the cristal leaked out from its place. But that was just a Casio watch and left it on direct sun. I don't think it would do anything like that but again I don't live in AZ. 122 is pretty damn hot.
If you need I can hook you up with a nice winter jacket.

Good comparison with your watch.. I've seen it happen to my cellphone/mp3 player and such...
If you're concerned, i recommend that you cover up your screen with a lil towel or something and eliminate the direct sunlight.. That should do it...
I think all new cars go through torture tests and I'm sure they tested over 122F.

I live in Tucson, Az, this is my 2nd Arizona summer with this car, and I've never had a problem. I nearly always put up the sunshade but I have forgotten it once or twice. My color is liquid platinum so there is some difference there but I'd still be surprised if it was the heat. I'd make sure your LCD brightness wasn't set ridiculously low or something along those lines.
Hope that helps,
Matt

I have everything but the windsheild tinted. It definitely helps but it's still ridiculously hot. I'll be curious to hear what you learn about the windshield though. I hadn't thought of that until you mentioned it.
