*UPDATE Pt. 1* My manual mode is starting to die...

I have 47.7k-ish miles and I'm thinking it's not gonna last any longer.

When I move the shifter left to put it in manual mode, it works fine until I downshift... when I try, it goes to D and gets stuck in D (everything else is fine, I just can't get into DS and M) until I restart the ignition. It used to be fine after 1 restart(which I thought it was just being buggy) but now I have to do it a few times to make it work right.

I don't think it's a transmission issue because the shifts are smoother than ever... I don't have the 2nd-3rd gear bang anymore. I was thinking it'd be more like a wiring issue since I use the manual mode 24/7 and switches/wires that work the shifter might've worn out due to excessive use. However, I am very confused as to which one it is because it seems to work flawlessly after the car has been "warmed up", in 100+ degree weather.

I'm gonna give the dealership a call to see if they'd had anything like that before and try to get it fixed when I have time...

Anyone else on here experience this yet?

*UPDATE Pt. 1*

Okay so I finally made my way to the dealership to get it checked out. I wanted to call and ask first but the new guy @ Parkway Infiniti never picks up his god damn phone. So I made my way down 2 weeks ago and he told me to come back later with an appointment.

So I scheduled it for last friday and went in and told him about what is happening. So they took the car in while I waited 4 hours without any updates. After the car was done(which I can clearly see drive out because of the window @ the lobby) the dude never came up to me to notify that the car was done. After waiting 20 minutes to see if he actually cared about his customers, I figured if he's not even picking up his phone why should I waste any more time and literally had to stand right infront of the car for 2-3 minutes.

Anyways the problems had changed since my last write up. I stated that it worked fine after the car had warmed up and this is only partially true.

The only reason why it seemed to work after warming up was because of the AC. The center console (aluminum parts) gets heated up very quickly since I park in the sun and I usually have the AC on full because of the 100+ degree weather. After the center console cools down, it starts working again but lately, the problem is so bad that I have to drive in D 24/7 and it annoys the crap out of me because of the awkward shift points compared to my shifting style I'm used to. What I'm guessing for the cause is that the sensor in the center console was affected by the extreme heat. I had a rubberducky on the dash (in between the center speaker and the windshield) and it was burnt... I'm lucky it didn't melt or catch the car on fire lol.

Anyways, the service manager guy told me that it was the sensor in the shifting console that was being flaky and said the car threw a code but I forgot to ask what it was. I'm supposed to get a call when they receive the part they ordered... which is unlikely so I'll probably call today and tomorrow or go again on friday if they don't pick up the phone. (I have to go to Valencia anyways and they're about 3 minutes away from where I have to go)

I'll do part 2 after the fix to see if it's working correctly.

try reset ecu. If that does not work take it to the dealer. It has to be under warranty.

Smoother shifts could also be a sign of a problem. i.e. slipping tranny.
