Auto doorlocks?

I just purchased a 2008 G35x. On my last car a 2005 Acura Tl, the doors would lock by themselves when shifted into Drive. I can't find this feature in my owner's manual for my G35.

The G35 doesn't come with the auto-door locks.
You should check out http://www.kptechnologies.com, they have a module to lock the doors when the gear is put in D.

The G doesn't have this feature (thankfully).

yes, thankfully. god, i hate all the security crap that's 'forced' upon us. and I'm very thankful that it doesn't go nuts when it's in D w/out a seatbelt buckled. living on a 150 acres, we are often driving from one place to another on the property at 5mph or maybe 10mph and it's hell having it beep at you the whole time.

^ Completely agree with the seatbelt thing.
Auto door locks are also a pain...

There was a lengthy thread on this a while back...basically everyone was bashing the auto lock feature from GM vehicles

I have owned a couple of Audis and this, among other features is

programable through the OBDII connector using the same program that the techs use. That software is commercially available.

There were plenty of hidden features, in certain markets, were not "turned on" by the manufacturer, but was activated in other markets. Using the software and a laptop, you could turn on or off the annoying seatbelt chime, program the car to raise and lower your windows and sun roof using the key fob, and adjust the air suspension.

Seems to me that all car manufacturers have similar software for their techs to use. I'd be willing to bet the auto door lock feature is programable in this manner.

This has been investigated previously, and IIRC it is NOT possible to program the G this way. Which works for me, I hate having cars lock the doors...
