Yeah, after close inspection, I realized I do have a good number of scratches on my shift **** after 1.5 years of owning it. Don't know how the scratches got there (considering I do not wear rings on my rt hand), but I guess that sort of thing is inevitable if you are using the car daily and especially if mechanics/the dealer get their hands on the car

It is not common to scratch the shift **** unless you intend to sniff it.

I don't think being married causes scratches on the shift ****, unless of course if you are Greek orthodox. I wear my wedding ring on my left hand.

FYI, I took off my **** and with some masking tape I covered up the leather and used a scotch brite pad to buffed off the finish. I then simply cleaned it up and sprayed several thin coats of clear. Bam, you're back in business.

i just grabbed a 3m scratch pad one of the green ones. took the shift **** off and just straight brushed the aluminum. now if there is a scratch it just kinda blends in. what i still haven't figured out is scratches on the door sills. girlfriend wears heels and rings... too bad i cant scotch pad her face.

They should've just made it 2-tone leather, or all-leather (as it presumably is on the M)
