I'd prob pass on getting this fixed at the dealer, since I'd already tampered with the wiring behind the A/V control unit. Hopefully this problem doesn't escalate to something else.

good suggestion about getting the 08 unit. since i reset my stations, the problem has not returned. hopefully it will stay that way.

(1) scroll through each station. whenever a preset says this "A " instead of "A1", that means the preset is somehow missing.

(3) change back to the channel before, save the old channel as "A1"

(4) repeat as necessary

that should fix it, until it pops up again.

am curious as to the cause.

Ditto above. I was about to post this but I was beat to it. If your preset does not say preset A1 , A2 etc. It will cause the problem. If you want 100.7 for example press your preset to that channel then scroll through up or down through some channels then back to 100.7 and then hold the button down to reset the station and it will work again.

This same thing just happened to me starting 2 days ago.

Ive noticed it is because the radio deselects the station you were currently on making the program think that it is starting at the top or bottom again.

Try cycling through very quickly while the station is still selected and it will work, but I would say that we shouldnt have to play games with the damn car to get it to do what we want it to.

^Thats kinda the reason why I haven't fixed it myself. The fix seems temporary. We all paid a good amount of money for our cars, we shouldn't have to deal with workarounds just to get the radio working. Any chance I can get the dealer to replace the part for free, I'm going to take advantage of it.

Throw another '07 G on the list for this issue. I noticed it about a week ago. Do our cars get navi updates throuh satelite? Perhaps this is a bug in a recent update, prob not though??

there are no updates of any kind via SAT or radio or any other form of communication. the only update is for the maps and you have to pay for it. its like $200. its not worth it unless you frequently drive on roads that do not show up on ur nav map.

In this same vein, can the enter button on the steering wheel be used to scroll thru the sat stations (starting at 1 and going up thru the last one) similar to the scan button on the radio?

thanks

Add another G to this thread....it happen a few weeks ago but I was too busy to check if anyone had posted on this issue. Well I took my car into the dealers last week and they told me they would order a new stereo which would take 3 to 4 days. Its been 7 days n no answer from the dealer so I decided to call them today to find out what was going on. Come to find out they know what the problem is and that they need to order a "GPS module" and the radio is not defected which doesn't make sense but we'll see. They ordered the Gps module but won't be in till next week. I'll keep you guys updated on what they do and what happens.

you are going to loose all of you radio settings, including all the songs you have ripped to your HDD if you have that replaced

I just got mine replaced this morning. It took about a week for the part to come in. I did lose all my ripped music and I had to re-pair my cell phone, but thats fine. I just glad they were able to fix it.
