It works to syncrhronize the fuel ijection with the intake valves.

It is really critical how they place it(distance). Have you asked them if it is really faulty or they just replaced them due to the alarm. Wiring could be too as jjyellow mentioned. These are my guesses.

I would start questioning my service advisor if they actually know what the problem is or just guessing. Look into your state lemon law and make them aware of it. See if they can "fix it" this time.

tell them to really check it out or you will lemon law the vehicle... you are now with in spec to do so. If you need an attorney for lemon law, I have a good one I used and he won my case with Audi.

I was under the assumption they will only "buy" the car back from you at current market value.

They will put you in another new vehicle that is the same or the cut you a check for your purchase price or total payments and down payments made. But this is about a 1-2yr process... mine took 15 months before I settled. They will make you offers throughout the process... PM if you have specific questions.

It's a Lemon...according to the law

Ok so here's the deal. You're in CT and I don't know the CT state lemon law but I'd do a quick google search and find out. When I was living in Massachusetts, I owned a 2006 Mazda 3S GT. I loved the car but I had to take it in four times because it kept dying. They replaced the battery twice and then the alternator but the fourth time they FINALLY found out what it was. Instead of just doing the easy fix, they kept my car for three weeks and gave me a CX-7 loaded loaner. The problem ended up being the crappy dealer installed Mazda Remote Start system...it somehow failed and shorted melting away most of the electronics.

Anyway, in Mass, the 3rd repair for the SAME problem AND/OR a total of 15 days in the shop during the 1st year of ownership qualifies for it being a lemon so I filed a lemon law suit (really easy to do) and ended up keeping the car and getting $8K from Mazda after the lawyer took their cut. The car was fixed finally after replacing the remote start alarm and I never had another problem with it. Bottom line...look up your state lemon laws...you most likely already qualify.
