G35xS or G35S Journey??

Im trying to decide which car to go with. I live in the NYC area. I know the x is good for the snow but quite frankly we dont get too many bad snow storms. Im more concerned with performance. Now the x weighs down the car about 200 lbs more. Caranddriver says the difference is minimal between a 6mt and an xS, 5.2s vs 5.4s 0-60. Now, considering Im getting an auto anyway, does it really matter if I have the xS or JourneyS from a PERFORMANCE aspect?

Im leaning towards the xS.... BTW, they quoted me 37,779 for a xS with nav and at a diff dealer, 37,700 for a JourneyS with nav. (RWD Journeys are hard to find in the Northeast)

Well, I chose against the sport version because I was way too big for the seats (I'm 6'7" and not too skinny). I fit just right in the regular journey and love it.

I would say take an extended drive in each and go with your gut!! You can't go wrong either way!

The X is nice as teh VDC doesn't kick in ALL the time.

well if they quoted you so close..then I would go for a xS....gets more money when you resell in the future....I guess... if you are in snow belt even for a month the xS is worth it..

if your VDC is kicking in, then you are driving like an idiot, if we can run canyon roads to the limits of the car safely without setting the VDC off, then you arent doing something safe!

For performance wise, Journey S would be my choice. xS is couple hundred pounds heavier and more power loss due to the transfer case and such.
However, in cold states with snow and icy road, xS would be better.

Yeah I think Im going to just go with the xS. I test drove an xS already (and those paddle shifters are awesome. It gives you a crazy boost upshifiting at redline). And I honestly dont think its going to be a difference with the Journey S. Besides, with my luck we will have a f'n blizzard this winter and then I'd wish I got AWD. Thanks for the input guys.

Ever tried turning left onto a busy road and because you applied 1/10% too much throttle the VDC kicks in and you're left hanging in the intersection not going anywhere?
