Cant find it!!

Hey peeps,
im in a really crappy situation...i have been currently (and consistently) looking for an 07 G35S. I mustve picked the wrong area to reside in because unfortunately no dealer i have come across in NY has what im looking for (i even gave up my color preferences and decided to buy whatever i find!) but after ive really put some thought into it, ive come to a conclusion that AWD is a nessecity where i live, so i decided to look for a black G35x.. id like to hear what you guys think about this decision and if shipping an S from out of state would be a better solution and to take it easy on slippery days

P.S: Is there any noticable difference btw the S and x; other than the cosmetic apperances? (im talking performance; handling, steering, acceleration?) AND... can i buy the front bumper of the S and install it on the x? if so how much

thanks...

Yes, as long as you do NOT have the tech package... the ICC sensors don't line up in the same spot.
But a better question was asked.... why not go with the XS?

Well...I wouldn't say you're really in a crappy siuation, you're going to have two new fun toys!

What is your method for searching?

If I didn't prefer manual transmission, I would have gotten an X model in a heartbeat. But I had to have the stick, which cut my selection down to about 3 cars in the entire NE. I guess it really depends on what you want, but I feel like the G35 in non-sport is still a damned nice car, its just as fast as sport models, and you might even prefer the softer suspension.

As far as the bumper, from what I have gathered, S owners get the shaft when it comes to aftermaket bumpers and lips. I dont even think you'll want to put an S bumper on there when you can put something even better on, prob cheaper too.

The larger rims that sit more flush with the fenders is what makes the S look better on the dealer lots, and that can be easily solved.

Its just my 2 cents, but if you can't find an S-model and you dont care about 6MT, I would just get a non-S and use the money you save to mod it. There are lots of them around, and you can get them really cheap, prob mid 20's with low miles. But thats just my opinion, there might be some features in the S you're really pining for, but if its just the look, that can be fixed easily with mods.
